I'm optimistic that the preseason with so much belief, given how agonisingly close our last four games were, had the fellas a little too focused on the x's & o's and that they forgot that sometimes a game just comes down to aggression and willpower.

This weekend I believe we're going to see just how big these pup's paws are.

If we lose to west coast I'll cry

Realistically, no one had us winning that first game in Geelong - particularly with the outs and underdone players (Chappy, Pearce, Ryan ect).
If we can beat Sydney we are still where we want to be with (hopefully) easier games coming up and the cavalry of Young, Darcy, Bolton, Fyfe to return. (to a lesser extent Walters).
I think everyone underestimates just how important Sean Darcy is to the Dockers. His importance is two fold - to win (or at least halve) every ruck contest, and to release, and protect, Luke Jackson.

Yep - I am an optimistic guy, yet optimism is grounded in truth. So I tipped Geelong. The only negative was the selection of 9 defenders, the Reidy situation and a ten goal against fourth quarter.

Those worry me and still I am tipping us this week and think we will be 1-1 which is where I had us prior to the seasons start.
