With Freo announcing they'll win a few flags in the next couple of years.....
Well done on the dockers signing up Longmuir for a bunch more years, good to lock in a premiership winning coach.
the players should also get their premiership tattoos done now, why wait?

What’s with all these clubs announcing they intend to win premierships in the near future? Isn’t that why you play footy? You exist to win flags, chumps.
Actually, Hawthorn started this when Clarkson was named coach. Wanted 2 flags in 5 years. Got one at the time, which was pretty damn good really. The rest is history.Cause everyone wants to copy the Tigers plan from years back when they said the same thing before winning their 3 flags.
I think its stupid personally as it puts unnecessary pressure on the club a whole. Its good to aim high but be relalistic about it. Didnt GC come out and say something similar?
What would the rest be if not history? That saying has always annoyed me.Actually, Hawthorn started this when Clarkson was named coach. Wanted 2 flags in 5 years. Got one at the time, which was pretty damn good really. The rest is history.
Feels like something that was first said in a movie or something, and it got to the point where everyone just assumed it was an actual saying that made senseWhat would the rest be if not history? That saying has always annoyed me.
Winning a GF is a numpty target. Of course that is the goal over every team.
You should have realistic targets, we want to finish top 4 3 x in 5 years, making 2 prelim finals in 5 years. You achieve that you've had success and you'll probably play in a GF. Then who knows. Wining a GF is hard and a lot of luck. Finish top 4 a few times, make a couple of prelims, you're as good a shot as any team.
Ours by far. But I would rather Geelong than most of the other teams. Only teams to win a flag over that period are: Swans, Hawks, Dogs, Tigers, Eagles and Dees.Would you rather have had Geelong's last 10 years, or ours?
2012-2021
Geelong: 1 losing GF, 5 losing prelims, 1 straight set elimination.
WCE: 1 flag, 1 losing GF, no other prelims or top 4 finishes.
When we finish top 4, we generally go deep.
I'd rather that than the constant dick teasing of Geelong.
Geelong prove my point. You need luck to win a flag. Being consistently in prelims is giving yourself the best chance.Would you rather have had Geelong's last 10 years, or ours?

take away our 2018 flag (which came from almost nowhere and had some massive luck) and it’s not close who’s last 10 years I’d take.
Yeah
But you can't take away our flag.
That's the whole point.
The question was, "ours or Geelongs last 10 years".
Not "ours or Geelongs last 10 years if you take away our flag".
"Massive luck"?
Like losing NN, Gaff, Shep and playing Collingwood on their home ground?
Imagine the melts if 7th or 8th pull a win out their ass in week one. After having already beat them in the same finals series. It's the f’ed up thing about our finals system. There should be no double chance. 1-8. Top seed plays bottom seed at the top seeds home ground until you have your premier. It's literally dead ******* simple and the fairest system of all.

Shame bigfooty wasn't around then! It's happened under the old McIntyre final system, which is partially why they changed it

Melbourne (7) defeated Carlton(2), we almost got done by Collingwood who finished 8th same year
