Injury Richmond star Brett Deledio in doubt for round one

Don't overreact, at this stage it's only Yazz and Conca as certain out's and considering that Yazz hasn't played for us yet and Conca never does it's hardly a blow to the side, maybe wait until the club say's something and not the media before blowing a gasket.

Wasn't Yazz the big fish?

So who is out for R1? like we go in without Titch, Conca, Yarran and now Lids, because we are going to be the cutting edge idiots that rest him in R1 so as to be "fined tuned" for R2 and beyond....This is gearing up to become the good ol tiger cluster**** that we are used to with the current brains trust. Its quite strange that prior to the announcement of the 2 year extension for Dimma, Yarran was a chance for R1, flying on the track, there was no word on any worries on Lids and he would be in for r1 and once the announcement was made, the arse is falling out of the side....buckle up dudes...this is gunna be one of those years that bring us back to the future...

you could almost say before the contract extension we were locked and loaded , now we have all these mystery injuries

As I said in the pre-season thread, the past two years he's played sore then missed the next month or more. Let's not make the same mistake 3 times in a row.

For the past few years he's been carrying an ongoing ankle/calf issue....He will ALWAYS be playing sore, and as has been said many times, the club has been managing him workload accordingly.

I know the club is pretty dodgy when it comes to injury updates generally, but in this case, they've been saying the same thing for years and it fits with the available facts.

If we rested him until fully fit, he would never play again.

Rest him to the point where playing doesn't result in a month lay off.

There is ALWAYS a chance of that, it's just a matter of playing the odds.

It's just a matter of where they draw the line. So what do you think 10% chance? 15%? 20%?

People talk about resting him until round 2 because it matters more, but he's only had half a game so far this pre season (because they're been managing his workload) and he has to get *some* match fitness.

Play him...If we're 10 goals up, then make sure he gets plenty of time on the pine.

who is more believable the club or the media ?
Really Lids or no Lids shouldn't be an issue Thursday. But then after R1 it becomes a major issue.
Yeah.
I'm just hoping he stays out til he's ready.

Lids might have to become a soft track specialist in the future, achilles injuries don't respond well to running/training on hard tracks. I know senior players come back later during preseason and have reduced work loads but Lids is going to need an even more modified program during the off season.

Lets face it Lids at 80% is better than most anyway. Play him exclusively as a deep forward, reduce his training and hope like hell his achilles responds.

10 games at Shitihad wouldfix that

Pivotal Richmond star Brett Deledio is in doubt for the Tigers' season-opener against Carlton on Easter Thursday after missing a training session on Sunday.

The Tigers' mounting injury woes have been worsened by Deledio's injury, which is understood to be a soft-tissue problem. He has not been officially ruled out of Thursday's MCG blockbuster but it's believed he is also no certainty to play against Collingwood in round two.

A mate of mine works out at a specific gym in airport west, the same gym which Brandon Ellis goes to. The friend has the same personal trainer as Ellis, and says that Ellis told him that Deledio is a certainty to miss the beginning of the season with an ankle injury. You wait and see

Getting really tired of the bullshit games the club plays in relation to injuries. As their most important stakeholder I believe we deserve more clarity.
