I'm guessing it's irrelevant for this amount of fun, but you guys do know the Nominations are yet to close (this coming Monday)?:tearsofjoy:

Pick 2- Gold Coast- Jed Walter
Okay guys:

Pick 2:
North Melbourne bid on Jed Walter. 194 cm, 97 kg KPF. GC Match.

Pick 3- North Melbourne- Colby McKercher
With Pick 3: North Melbourne select: Colby McKercher 182 cm, 76 kg MID.

Mckercher just seemed too good to pass up. His breakaway speed and dash from contests will fit in well with Wardlaw, Sheezel, LDU and his elite kicking sets him apart from the others. Clarko always values strong field kicking, and passing on arguably the best kick in the draft just doesn't seem right.

Others considered: Zane Duursma, Nick Watson, Dan Curtin.

Pick 4- North Melbourne- Dan Curtin
With Pick 4: North Melbourne select Daniel Curtin 197 cm 95 kg KPD/FWD

Probably the easiest selection in the draft besides Reid at 1 in my opinion. With Ben McKay on his way to the Bombers, it has left a significant hole in the Kangaroos key defensive stocks. Curtin is easily the best defender in this draft and will come ready to play round 1. There is some concern about him being away from WA, but Curtin arguably has the most upside of anyone in this draft. Curtin is Rance-like in the way he plays. A strong intercept marker, with very good athleticism, Curtin is also not afraid to take the game on, often utilising an elite sidestep to swing onto his left foot. Curtin is also versatile and has spent time up forward to some effect and has been been thrown through the middle with varying results. Overall, Curtin is arguably the most versatile and potentially the most upside of any player in this draft which makes it an easy pick for North here.

Others considered: Zane Duursma, Nick Watson, Ryley Sanders

Pick 5- Hawthorn- Zane Duursma
With the 5th pick in the 2023 AFL Draft the Hawthorn Hawks select Zane Duursma from Vic Country.

To good to pass up. Had eyes all over Watson but Hawk fans would be pleased to land the best player avaliable.

(Ty Vickery goes up on stage to shake his hand and present the guernsey)

Would be a tough call for Hawks recruiters in real life if this were to happen. Obviously Watson would be the ideal Breust replacement, but Duursma is just a freakish athlete.

Pick 6- Gold Coast- Ethan Read, Pick 7- Western Bulldogs- Ryley Sanders
Bulldogs bid on Ethan Read at pick 6, which is matched.

With pick 7 the Dogs snap up Ryley Sanders 185cm 86kg Midfielder from Sandringham Dragons/Allies.

Some may look at this as a surprise pick given the talent still on the board, but given their midfield brigade is getting on in age with Libba 32 next year, Treloar 31, Macrae 30 & Bont 28, Sanders is a better fit for the Dogs than those other options. Sanders is a no nonsense midfielder, who is as capable winning his own footy at the contest as he is winning it in space and using it well. At the champs Sanders averaged 35 disposals 6 marks 81% efficiency 4 tackles & 5 clearances and across the season never went below 25 disposals, alongside Bailey Smith he gives the Dogs a solid foundation for their next generation midfield to be built around.

Other considered: Nick Watson, Nick Caddy

Tigerbob is up. It will be interesting to see which way he goes

Ctl surely 2 days since Tigerbob has been tagged and not even been online is good enough time to make the pick for him
Yeh, I'll give Tigerbob until tomorrow, otherwise Melbourne will be allocated Nick Watson, the next highest ranked player on Cal Twomeys Phantom draft.

Going forward users will have 24 hours to make their selection otherwise they'll be allocated the next highest ranked player according to Cal twomeys phantom draft, then post 30 picks according to the official big footy draft

Pick 8- Melbourne Demons- Nick Watson
Sorry guys, Melbourne select Nick the Wizard Watson.

Probably not the outcome I personally wanted, would of liked on of Curtain or Sanders to fall but have to take Watson as next best on my list. Can be dynamic player for Melbourne, I worry about 170cm player taken this early but he’s had runs on the board.

Pick 9- GWS- Ashton Moir
OK my pick next
At gws we pick up from south Australia
Ashton Moir
Super talented half forward, can kick 50 metres + on both feet
Very good on the lead, way to talented for us not to pick up,
We will pair him with our inspirational skipper Toby over summer training. He may or may not play games in 2024,but we are patient and thinking long term here, if he can play in 2024
A forward line of hoges ricci, toby 1 and toby 2 ,stormy and moir will be so exciting the crowds will come and we will have packed stadiums every week
GO GIANTS THERES A BIG BIG SOUND
