What? How was I saying Darling and Gaff were the difference?
The reason was TANKING. They were a much better team than dead last but the lost on purpose to get picks and then tried to win the next year, which is why they jumped so much.

I see what you mean.

If Hamish kicks a goal on the siren, we don't let Port kick 5 goals in 10 minutes and we hold onto our 6 goal lead against West Coast we finish with 17 wins which is equal first.

With Tuck we win the Port and West Coast game, and potentially more.

Do you see Richmond's skills improving that dramatically though? Skills are usually developed early, and Richmond does a great job winning the ball for their skilled players.

West Coast in 2010 had one player with more then 5 clearances a game, they weren't tanking they were just horrible

and I said AFL players not NRL players:p, It's assumed they'd have reasonable skills and game sense
If Hunt misses, Griggs bounces through, Mclean actually hits his target, we don't give up a 36 point quarter time lead against Adelaide, if we don't let Daisy dominate for that 5 min period, if we hold of Port and if we kick straight against Essendon, West Coast and Fremantle we would have finished with 19 wins and been 1st.

If we had Vickery, Foley and Grimes for 22 games we win all those games.

Skills are developed early, luck we have the 3rd youngest team in the comp.

They were tanking

Richmond supporters hate Jackson they say he has terrible disposal, he is matured and tough though. If you had 22 like him you would still get thrashed every game

1) I see your point but you missed my point that it wasn't laughable that we could have finished top 4 with tuck

2) earlier then AFL usually, not many players get that much better once they hit the elite level

3) Lets see how Richmond would go if you took away Rance, Cotchin.. would they be tanking if they finished last then? that's not even starting with the other players they lost

4)If you took out all of Richmonds mid fielders, replaced them with Daniel Jacksons you wouldn't get thrashed all season, I don't believe in 100 point better skills

Tell that to Rance, he used to be a horrible kick now he has his disposal efficiency up to 85%

We would lose by 100 points since they would get almost every clearance and we would hardly ever get a chance to score

Our St.Kilda win was more impressive than yours considering it was a Friday night game, infront of a packed Ethihad which had been hyped up all week and was considered one of the most entertaining games of the season. Also we hadn't beaten them there for about 10 years.

Wow.

I have now heard it all. A 33 point win is considered inferior to a 7 point win because it was played on a different day.

Is there anything a Richmond supporter won't spin?

Thats not the only reason, maybe you should learn how to read. We hadn't beaten them for 10 years!

Top 4. The Tiges could fall in to the top 8, but wouldn't do much havoc.

North have a list that should make top 4, they just don't have a list that jumps out and screams flag.

Tell that to the 2012 premiers.

lol

We beat Sydney and Hawthorn, we'd do more damage than North that's for sure.

Tipping we would put in a much better showing then North did against WC.
Seen it all now, Teffy calling people out for over rating their team, seriously of all the people on BF to do so.
This thread is crap as well, on both sides.

You can tip it if you want, but you have to make finals first.

32 years is a long time.

I wonder if any North supporters would have their finals records over the last ten years handy. Impressive i would guess.

What? When did I say it was?

You seemed to lower the level of our win, whilst elevating yours, due in part to the fact you hadn't beaten them for x number of years.

Getting back to the subject at hand, both teams should be expecting to improve significantly over the coming years, and the fact is that either could be better than the other.

I dispute the theory that Richmond has better top end talent. They have Cochin who is likely to end up the best on either list, however who is to say how good Ziebell, Martin, Atley or whoever will end up.

In round 1 2015 north will have a midfield of and including swallow, wells, Ziebell, cunnington, Atley, Adams, bastinac and Harper. Everyone one of those eight, is/will be a gun IMO. Not to mention Goldy as the ruckman. Not saying the tigers won't be better, but you would think they would be very bloody good if they do.

One thing the two clubs have in common is a propencity to lose close games. The Richmond game is the only close game where we were out-choked in the last 2 years.

Worth noting how fortunate Richmond have been with their stars. Riewoldt, Cotchin, Deledio and Martin haven't missed a game with injury for 2 years. A bit rich for Tigers fans to be citing our good run with injury.

So Riewoldt struggled through the entire 2011 season and missed half the 2012 preseason because he had an ankle reconstruction, a shoulder reconstruction, two operations on his hips and an operation on a finger, and then spent a month on painkillers. Yes very fortunate.

Cotchin started life at Tigerland on the long term injury list with no preseason managing the last 15 games, the achilles flared up and he missed the majority of the 2009 preseason, he managed 10 games before a hip injury took hold. 2012 preseason the opposite achilles was an issue missing the start of preseason again, it wasnt until 2011 he had his first injury free run. Yes very fortunate.

You can't dispute the top end talent. We have Cotchin, Deledio, Martin and Rewioldt.
Round 1, 2015 we will have Cotchin, Deledio, Martin (Cotchin and Martin could easily be in the top 10 players in the comp and Deledio in the top 20) Foley, Conca, Grigg, Helbig, Ellis, Vlaustin (most likely). Plus Maric in the ruck

Hahah, the one he was right about was Deledio though. Most games in a row currently in the comp I think.

We've won one final.

You? Tell about your spoons in the last ten years too.
How many have you played and what were the final margins?

Played 172 out of a possible 178 games. Remarkable.

You're really not helping yourself when you mention Helbig (who is ordinary with limited potential) and Vlaustin (who hasn't played a game and might not even end up at the club).
