He hurt in the first minute against the cats last week and was only going at half pace for the rest of the night and still played well, will be back next week , good move by the club, plus gets gilly into the side which is important.

Can anyone at Port Melbourne today confirm if Patto is playing?
It would be good to see one of our developing KPP prospects get a runo_O

Let's just hope it's precationary and he'll be back for the Suns/Swans. Savage playing today with BHH so it will either be Gilham or Duryea. Not sure if either of them played

Hope Roughy and Franklin are still fit enough to sit on a plane for an hour to sit in the coaches box for 3 hours.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but who the hell are Stephen Gingham & Taylor Dread??

Rough blow

HAWTHORN key forward Jarryd Roughead has not made the trip to Tasmania for Sunday's AFL clash with Port Adelaide.

Roughead suffered an ankle twinge late in last weekend's two-point loss to Geelong and won't be risked against the Power in Launceston.

He joins fellow forward Lance Franklin (hamstring) in sitting out the match, with the Hawks uncertain what to expect from the Power following the departure of coach Matthew Primus.

"He (Roughead) could have nearly played but he's had a fair workload throughout the course of the year and he's a very, very important player for us," Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson told reporters on Saturday.

"We just want to make sure he's right for the weeks ahead."

Clarkson said the setback presented a good opportunity for him to assess his forward options as the premiership fancies head towards the finals, with Stephen Gingham, Shane Savage and Taylor Dread chances of replacing Roughead.

"We've been able to cope with not having our normal type of forward line and we've still been able to kick goals," Clarkson said.

"It's a good problem to have, though. We haven't had that problem at our club for a long time in terms of having too many talls."

Port will play their first game under long-time assistant Gary Hocking and Clarkson admits that makes them less easy to predict.

"We're not certain whether they'll change any of their normal structures and how they go about it," he said.

"It makes it a little bit unique in that regard but, if we just stick to our processes, then hopefully that will be enough to get us over the line.
