That was a great result. Particularly as no one in HeraldSun tipped Hawks. How could all the experts be wrong. In the end a comfortable game...

Adelaide are so overrated but damn we were good. Most pleasing was that it was the next gen, Morrison, Cuz, Worps, Jaeger, Sicily, Impey and Nash who really stepped up.

Big Boy was excellent after half time and Shiels played his usual solid accumulating role.

Scrimshaw showed a bit and hopefully will be better for the run.

Stratton, Dimma, Mirra and Frawley did not concede a contested mark inside 50 and other than 2 cheapies from Junk Time their forwards didn’t kick a goal.

Inaccuracy and lack of impact from a couple of senior players the only areas of concern.

Imagine when we get Scully, Wingard and fully fit Gunston in the side.

You look at the numbers and Adelaide beat us in every category, and they had double the free kicks, and we had a dozen more clangers. You'd think that they would come out 5 goal winners.

Ah WORPS, called you very early from your first possessions v the Saints in tassie. This kid has it. He is a fighter. What a massive find for us!

We can only get better as the season grinds on. We were very scrappy in patches however we made adelaide look horrible. The crows had some very lucky goals in the second quarter also which flattered them.

We were sloppy in the final quarter however we absorbed the pressure well and soldiered on.

32 point away win is massive.

And won well.

That was because we were under siege in the last qtr and we practically were on the ropes physically. They made up the inside 50s in 1 qtr and blew out the contested possessions also. Stats can be misleading though a lot of what they were doing was desperate stuff with not a lot of process involved. When we had the opportunities to enter the 50 we were far more clinical.
