It doesn't surprise me to see McPharlin miss - I'm hoping it's just him being rested

We've faced some some pretty daunting key forwards in round 1-5: Kennedy, franklin, Tippett, Schulz, Hawkins, Watts :drunk: to name a few

I don't see Carlisle or Daniher at the same level as them. Looking forward to seeing Pearce debut. Will we have another meltdown on here when McPharlin is fit and out: Pearce makes a comeback (again)

Very very interested to see how ap will handle the heat. Its a big step up in level. Ibbo and johnson are gonna need to play well.

Do you reckon this is a meltdown? I think it's more big concern because no-one knows how serious his calf 'soreness' is. Is it code for 'there's nothing wrong we're just giving him a rest but don't want to disrespect the opposition' or maybe 'he's out for 6 weeks'... or maybe 'he's pulled up a bit sore and we don't want to risk it but he'll be back next week.'

The concern is it may be option 2.

Great for A.Pearce, once again SCOS is injured at the wrong time too. He would have been a lock in you'd think if fit. All well, one door closes another opens. Looking forward to him running around out there. Just need to make sure our midfield continue to hum along and so take the pressure off the young backman.

That strapping on McPharlin's calf at training isn't too big, just a little strip horizontally around the bottom of the muscle I see triathletes using when they have a niggle but are still training/competing.

If anyone saw Sloan after their game, THAT is a calf strapping.

the news had footage of Mcpharlin doing some running, looked gingerly, though that is his normal running, then consulting staff, walk off. So the fact that he tried tends to suggest its as suggested - calf soreness. no risk. these things can linger, given his history. not a good long term sign but i will pray. But the usual pattern of Freo dockers success usually correlates with Luke's fitness

So Pav and SonSon being selected the week after a concussion raises eyebrows? Where were they for Luke Parker when he got concussed?

I wish AP luck. I think he'll need it.
Good luck but then the whack? Form been good in wafl & injuries to key backs helps. How do we get replacements for our older backs if kids like this don't get games ???
