Round 7: Changes Vs Adelaide Crows

No changes, give Blakey another game to build up his fitness. Is it me or can I not stand the commentators saying Luke Ryan is most improved or revitalised as a player, seriously he has been a consistent performer for us since coming from Coburg wherever he’s played

I'd prefer they didn't talk about him at all.

I think they all just found out he is from Victoria.

He's our 2nd best
Once again the lines between reality and fantasy become blurred.

Reminds me of a saying -“the longer conners out the better player he becomes”.
He’s no where near our second best mid.

Your effectively saying he’s better than Mundy , walters, bhill, shill.
Even Langdon has claims to be as good.
Yes he might BECOME our second best mid, certainly has some weapons but as of right now the bloke hasn’t even 50 games.

Very interesting selection week but the suggestions of Langdon (wtf) or Colyer out wouldn't be the best idea as there's a lot of talk about the crows being susceptible to leg speed.
Conca or Brayshaw would fit the best but would be a bit rough on both unless it was Brayshaw for a legitimate rest.
Tucker stays in no matter what for mine, he is building nicely. Would love to see see 25-30 of his effective disposals a week. Opposition teams would start to look at tagging him if that was the case.
What wonderful problems we have.

except Conca has been very good & important to our structures.

We would of lost last week without our 30+ year old star, midfield is a massive concern. We have a young gun midfielder who would only improve with more games at AFL level in the 2's ready to play, yet you want him to stay there ? Crows midfield will run havoc and destroy our midfield without him IMO.

If anything it’ll be
Out: Brayshaw (rest)
In: Blakely
I’m a big fan of Andy but he’s not having the biggest influence as of late, with Blakely ultimately making us a better side. I get the “pump games into your high draft picks” argument but players can’t be gifted games just to gain experience.

Really we did fine against a GWS midfield who I rate higher than the Crows midfield.

it's more our backline that has been the winning factor, but the crows have a better forwardline than the dogs definitely, & arguably than the Giants, who were without Green.
the midfield does need bolstering & Blakely is a significant upgrade on Brayshaw IMO

I have Brayshaw ahead of Cerra.

To me Brayshaw is going to be a great player for us but for his confidence and development now is the perfect time to manage him and bring in Blakey who is in our best half dozen players when fit and has earned his stripes through playing plenty of past games with Peel
Brayshaw can hone his skills and decision making by foot through Peel (only 4 kicks against Dogs)

If I read one more post about Brayshaw 'improving his footskills' at Peel my head will explode. His issue is pressure kicking and it's not going improve under less pressure. He's only going out if he needs an actual rest or isn't hitting running or defensive standards.
Blakey spent alot of time at Peel because he wouldn't defend, not to learn to kick.

Based on Ross’s comments on 6PR, Blakely, Logue and Duman have to play their way into the team and won’t automatically come in because they’re available. He did speak really highly of his leadership and how much of an important player he is, though, so maybe he does come in after a run with in the two’s.
