i hope we do smash them but i think it wil b a good game, they are in the top 6 teams in the league atm and are in sum reasonable form atm the key will b ho wins it in the midfield i think our midfield depth is better Dal Santo, Ball, Hayes, Montanga,Goddard, Ray, Gram though they have sum good players in Swan, Pendlebury, Davis and i guess thomas but if medhurst doesnt play i think itl b quite hard for them to win with the form and quality of our backline. saints by 36

Why is it when we are playing Collingwood I start to hate the Black and White like no other??

No idea Juggie.

News just in that Anthony has been given a week for headbutting on the w.e against North.

That will take the pressure off the backline a bit.

But I read somewhere that Fisher pulled up sore after last night's game.

Does anyone know if he will be out this week? If so then it will put a fairly big kink in our chain when they've got the likes of Medhurst and Davis up forward. Those 2 can just about win a game off their own bat.

Even if Fisher was to come out, we may be able to bring Max back. Does anyone know of his progress?

In all serious though, Collingwood are really struggling down forward.
Jack Anthony, suspended.
Didak, injured.
Rocca, hack and is past it. And Cougar Dawson will tear him a new arseh*le anyway.
Medhurst, under an injury cloud.
Leigh Brown...

Not sure where they're going to get their goals from. If the Bulldogs midfield cant kick the goals, im struggling to see how Collingwood will.

If Anthony takes the week that is a huge out, he's their best target up forward. Rocca's past it and Cloke's been flat for some time.

I'd love to see Dawson line up on Rocca, payback's a bitch

99% chance they'll contest it, it was rathe rmeek and they always argue that Thompsons groin ran into his forehead because he's so awesome and smexy! <insert lovey dovey crap>

Otherwise, Medhurst will play, roll his ankle and then Gilbo will hopefully inadvertently tear Medders achilles to shreds just to combat that tough Pie supporter I saw who wished Rocca would break Dawsons knee because they're tough, like e-hero tough. Plus couldn't really happen to a nicer person since he wouldn't have to stage for a free that time then.

The lady speaks truth though, can't see where Collingwood will get their goals since I can't see them tearing through the centre, Cloke kicking 5 or their defence holding up all over the ground.

i think collingwood will finish top 4 this year. I had should ofs but they should really be 5-1 at this stage. They are much more dangerous then it seems IMO.

I was at the Lexus Centre today and Medhurst was not doing any sort of weights or fitness work, where as Didak was out there for about 5 - 10 minutes or so, talking to one of the coaches.

On the Stewie Dew fitness program is he?:D

I know we smashed em in the final but the Pies are a good team. I rate them in the top 8 and they have some very good players playing very well for them now in Lockyier, Pendles, Davis and Swan, and they ussually play well in big games. Like the coach keeps saying, theres no easy games.
I think every week is going to be a personal challenge for the saints to keep pressing, get better and stay on top of our game.

Hey Sainters,

Where is Max Hudghton at?

Will he line up against Collingwood? Or the week after?

Is he in the best 22?

hes a possibility of coming back this week isnt he? With anothney now getting a week for headbutting and medhurst most likey to be out of the team due to injury, i cant really see us having to many answer to your in form back line, but hopefully we can keep it interesting.

Might take u a while to adjust to our style of play, its gonna be a huge step up after what you encountered last week with the Kangas.

If memory serves me correctly Max was listed as 1 week last week, so should come straight in probably for Dawson. But we've been ultra-cautious with injury so far this year so you never know.

CJ and Mini to Swan and Davis.

Another tough game, this mob always seems to find another gear against us. It's like they take out the losses to Carltank and Essendon on us. Always a fight, and generally close. Players like Thomas decide to turn up when he plays us, didak and medhurst too.

Let's not forget Swan tearing us a new on last year after the Shaw-Didak thing. He goes forward and kicks goals and is quite strong. IF Chips is out, it's a huge loss. Quite worried about this game.

Will be a very tough game, they just seem to like beating us. Nothing lasts forever, pies by 12.

It's a huge game for us.

Look at the draw.

Rd 7 v Coll @ ES
Rd 8 v Ess @ ES
Rd 9 v Bris @ ES
Rd 10 v Melb @ GCS
Rd 11 v NM @ ES
Rd 12 v Carl @ ES
Rd 13 v Rich @ ES
Rd 14 v Geel @ ES

If we play like we have been playing, Collingwood and Carlton loom at the only significant threats to facing the Cats 13-0.

Remember I said if.

Collingwood now have a reputation for losing some games they shouldn't lose, and winning some games they are not expected to win.

However, only the Doggies have got past 70 against us this year, and they moved the ball very quickly and got the benefit from a well-earned return of the cue to the rack in the last quarter Sunday evening.

If Collingwood put Brown on Riewoldt and get everyone else out of the way like they did last year, they will be no hope. I also hope we bring either King or McEvoy in so we can play Kosi permanently forward, so not to be too Riewoldt concious.

Who comes out for King or McEvoy? I have no idea, but someone like a Robert Eddy will be seriously stiff.

Presti aka The Caravan will hook on to Reiwoldt right from the start. Presti is in sensational form and I wouldn't expect Reiwoldt to kick any more than 3 goals.

Nathan Brown will go to the slower Kosi which will be an interesting matchup and Harry O will re-aquaint himself with Milne.

Does Presti know what the wing of a football ground looks like? He's going to know Monday night if he follows Riewoldt around all night.

I can't imagine they'd play the in-form, but not decidedly quick, Prestigiacomo on the supreme athlete Riewoldt. Maybe they will go with O'Brien. I'd pray for Maxwell.
