Prediction Round 9: Changes vs Essendon

Disagree. We have the quality. But Ross is playing them like well trained bulldogs. It’s frustrating. Same 2012 game plan to this current season. There’s no change.
The foot soldiers we have are better use of the ball. Yet playing both ways.
Hogan is a freaking FF, yet he’s been run rugged playing as a defensive forward too.
Yeah you are probably right, maybe we had smarter foot soldiers back then who knew better how to play within their skill set. Besides Suban who thought he was dusty/ablett/fyfe level of power and speed :p.

In: Blakely Bewley

Out: Brayshaw Cox

I think that’s playing it conservatively.

I agree with some of the other posters that we can’t have Cox in with Tabs/hogan. He’s too similar to them..but more useless imo. Doesn’t give any defensive pressure and we all know his goal kicking is just as bad. If not worse.

So do we bring back McCarthy as that 3rd tall or perhaps Bewley!? We do need other avenues and options for a third stringer in the fwd line.

Blakely in for Colyer needs to happen. Do people think it's time Hogan had a rest, he's not really impacting at the moment?

a likely combination of the below.

we would have won that game, but this group isnt seasoned and only the senior players were able to physically respond after the energy sapping adelaide game.

in: Blakely, Bewley, Duman, Darcy, Banfield, Mccarthy

out:

Hughes (omit)
Cerra (rest)
Hogan (rest)
Brayshaw (rest)
Wilson (pathetic)
Colyer (ball burner)

Need to drop a big name. Make a statement

Switkowski? longest name in the team I think :p
seriously, expecting minimal change with maybe a forward &/or defender swapped out for someone who has been there recently.
e.g. Nyhuis for Duman, &/or McCarthy for Cox :(, while the mids are all kept the same.
probably Fyfe is out for 2 weeks unless he changes his name by deed poll to Dangerfield , in which case, Blakely comes in.
not that I want to see these changes

Hughes - Logue (he has had his run at WAFL and we all know he can play AFL so we need to show the current kids that your spot isnt safe)
Brayshaw - Blakely
Nyhuis (he doesnt really seem to fit our intercept and run defence with 1 Mark and 1 Tackle in the backline) - Bewley
Cox - Darcy

Obviously tinker with the lineups but Logue can take Nyhuis spot. Tucker can go to the other Half back flank. Blakley in the Midfield for Brayshaw. Bewley can go on the roaming wing/midfield role that Tucker has.

Consistent players that I cant find a spot for yet are Crowden and North. Both killing it at WAFL level. North surely cant be far away from his debut. Possibly Crop Cerra for either? Cerra did seem a tad slow and lazy with his disposals even though he had 6 tackles.

Colyer made some horrible decisions yesterday and often ran the wrong lines to add to his freakouts with the ball. He could use some time in the WAFL to regain his composure and form.

Going to be difficult to regain something he has never possessed.

Preview thread not up so didn't know where to put this, but Orazio Fantasia is a massive out for the bombers. Essendon has one thing and that is lots and lots of run, lets not lose this at the selection table.

We'll get beat, and the pitch forks will be sharpened.
Started season well again, and now the drop-off

Over the past few seasons Essendon has really struggled against defensive sides.

Aww come on, don't drop Colyer, this was our first chance to see him hit players red and black! In all seriousness, he deserves to play his old side.

Unfortunately we get them (like Richmond this week) coming off a bad loss, they'll be breathing fire and we are ****ed.

Blakely in for Fyfe.
Duman in for Colyer.
(Duman onto HBF, Cerra to wing)

Come on Kingswood, you're sounding like a misfiring EH.

Fyfe won't go, we know he is the messiah, ……. he walks across Lake Grace without getting wet.

If the man dubbed "god" can get off, the man known as "Nate of LG", will be afforded the same.

Half glass empty :(
Fyfe more likely to miss a week that gazza :(...or both miss....

OUT players not performing at their best ; Hogan , Hill and Conca .
IN players that have performed at their best for Peel .
Special Note :We need selectors to make the hard decisions on team balance and rewarding players that have had a full preseason and are pressing hard at Peel. Carter , Banfield and the exception Blakley .
