Ramsden played a few games last year. Played about 10 overall. Kicked a few goals so he's capable. Just needs to compete if he gets a gig and we will be happy.

Newcombe misses were in big trouble, we don't really have somebody that can replace what he does. Ward, McKenzie these guys will need to have huge games to compensate what we would lose. May even have to throw Connor McDonald in there for the whole game who's been very good for us this year.

i hate prime time games. it always feels we just can’t match the attention and shit the bed. even the bullies game was a worry early. as a freo fan, I have massive ptsd.

i want to believe we got this, but very worried about the cumulative effect of 3 six day breaks. it really boggles the

There’s an extended group that have travelled with the playing group due to a bye this week in the VFL.

Newcombe said he’s good to go and just managing after a big work load and shorter breaks recently. Sicily cleared by Sam, Meek also said the same as Newcombe.

Think Ramsden, Ryan, Perez, Hustwaite, McCabe etc all travelling whether they play or not. Ryan confirmed debut.

So I know everyone thinks Young's game last week is the reason why he shouldn't be played at half back, but I believe there are two sides to every tale. Yes, he kicked 3 goals but outside of that, he only had 7 other kicks for the whole game. I think, if we plonk him at half back, he has 15-20 kicks, that likely result in just as many goals, if not more, and he also helps us clear the ball out of d50 much better, which would reduce turnovers close to oppo goal, which result in scores. He is also a great intercept mark. You just can't have enough of them.
Now, with our absence of an elite small defender (we need Walker for these matchups in finals), why not play Young down back, as the Hawks midfield is undermanned, especially with Newcombe playing sore, and play Jordy Clark as a lockdown on Wizard? Jordy has elite pace, is extraordinary in 1v1 situations and can play really physical off the ball to limit his runs at the drop of the ball. These two teams are so similar in talent that the coaches will have a lot of say over the final result. Please don't play safe JL.

Young at half back can still have a handful of CBAs to mix things up. We’ve seen Jordy kick goals and Chapman last week. Nothing stopping him from kicking goals behind the ball. Just saying…

What we need is another Clark, I believe this is the plan for McVee so let's watch this space. Youngy is excellent in the middle so honestly rather not rob that, we've long been said to not take the game on enough - taking a primetime midfielder out of the midfield is not the answer to that (at least in my eyes).
