Amazing , people are saying Darcy needed to get fit. He played very well today. Used his weight to force passage for the mids. Won clearances.
Now as he finds form, experts want to rest him.FFS are those people suggesting that knowing anything about football?
Darcy has impacted better, but is being used in a very low TOG approach, although that will ultimately be a bit strategic with the additional bench spot.

Feel free to offer your opinion, but it can be done without taking shots at others, and in fact tends to work better.

You really can not be serious. Please tell me you are taking the piss. Did yoh not watch the game!
Why would you drop Darcy. Ludicrous.

Even if Darcy was reasonable, I don't think it was a ludicrous post. Cox played a full WAFL game and was BOG, so he is in form and fitter than Darcy. Could argue we need to manage Darcy through the season, and this is one of the opportunities to do so.

Pies also have Steene who wasn't great this week against Fort/Draper (a bit like Cox athletically), but really impressive the week before jumping over Briggs (who is a bit like Darcy athletically). Steene has an enormous leap and reach and Cox would be better equipped to compete with him at centre bounces than Darcy.

Lol I doubt that has anything to do with it.

It's more that he's the best kick in the squad and has real potential to unlock our whole free-flowing attacking gameplan if he can develop in that quarterback distributor role.

It shouldn’t be a factor but I reckon is a silly little sub conscious thing.

Our fans were huge on Luke Valenti because he was given 29 and was South Australian.

Cox played against a ruck that we discarded about five years ago.
You don't manage players of Darcy's quality at this time of the year. Darcy was far far better than reasonable. He was quality.
Why would you rest him when people here have been screaming that "he isn't fit".
It is bullshit.Illogical.

How does he get "fit" as so many tell us, when he doesn't play. It is garbage. Illogical.

The same way most players do, going through a conditioning program and then playing at a level deemed best for the team first, and then considering their needs.

Getting touch, picking up the speed of the game, etc. need AFL level.
Getting fit does not, so it's not illogical.

You stick to your opinion. I will stick to mine because I know I am correct.

For me it is not about him getting fit. I don't think that is really going to happen. He's going to be a 50% TOG player all year. But he is susceptible to getting injured and with back to back travelling then maybe we manage him.

I'm neither here nor there with him playing against the Pies. I can see both sides of the argument. But it can't be ruled out as a ludicrous idea. Especially with Steene (which you have ignored).

There was a moment during the tense last quarter when Adelaide kicked down the line to what appeared to be a one on one involving McVee and he completely misread the ball and the crows player took an uncontested mark when it should have been spoiled out of bounds . . .

At the risk of pissing off the Switta-haters (I’m ambivalent about him at best tbf) I thought he was excellent in the last quarter. First three quarters - yeah, nah, but he was very good in the 4th. Don’t @ me!

Isn't that the thing with switta though? Gets into some great form, really impacting games, then gets injured, gets games while still building into form, finds form, injured, gets games while building form, finds it, injured......

Is Brayshaw in trouble for the knee to Pedlar?

He was off the ground though. Might get a week for careless, high impact
If he did it would be very unlucky.

It wasn't even a free kick.

Lol the fact you mentioned Walker an in for Mcvee shows you’re talking out of your klacker.
I don’t really care who comes in. McVee has to go man.

6 games is enough.

Send this guy down to Peel and we see how he performs.

I guarantee you he won’t be performing any better then Brandon Walker or any other guy you want to name that played for Peel.

Stop counting pre season scratch matches, looks really silly.

Of course it is ludicrous. Players hate being "rested" , they detest it.
Steene is a learner been on Pies list for four years. They were short on ruckmen. Gave him the chance. His first SFL game. He probably wont be in the Pies side next week.
In regards to M Cox and todays WAFL game, we discarded Roy Benning about five years ago. He was never going to make it, just like Reidy and Jones. He comes up to about the shoulder of Cox. Any decent ruck would have decimated Benning.
There is no way Darcy will not play next week in Purple.

Only reason it got brought up at all is because I was being gaslight into the whole “he needs time to gel with the team” rhetoric.

Which should not apply to this guy. But apparently it does.

24 quarters of football. He’s had enough time.

Drop him.

Checks stats from other games: interesting, seems there’s a bunch of rucks playing around 50% game time, some even as low as mid 30s (and not because of injury). I wonder if that is why Darcy is also playing approx 50% TOG?

He's bloody effective when he’s on field. Cox probably offers more around the ground but that’s not what we need while all 3 talls plus Jackson are plying.

When was the last Freo JL player in the leadership group to be dropped.? Won't happen
Yeah.. how soft is this club?
Let’s keep dragging JOM along.

Switkowsi redeemed himself with the 4th quarter, but gee he has been quiet the first 4 rounds.
