Exactly. Just don’t select him and say he’s not available for selection due to personal issues. They’re protecting themselves not him.
In a world where the alleged has done what is being reported on - have you considered how insensitive it is to say it's personal issues though? You know what happens if you say that? Commentators who read it say "We wish him all the best".

Think about that for a moment.

I'm not sure people like this have the capacity to critically think outside of their own POV, lol.

And that it may also id the alleged victim

It shows how ****ed the Victorian justice system is that the courts put suppression orders left right and centre (see Samantha Murphy's alleged murderer, Victoria is supression order capital of Australia) and then defeat the purpose of them by publishing a court date.

What a useless system.

yes they can, its not there job to lie to the general public, they dont have to comment on it just say personal reasons and end of conversation, journalists cant ask about it anyway

And ‘personal reasons’ is still at best a half truth & at worse a complete misrepresentation of the seriousness of the nature. It would also be hammered by you & others for making it sound like mental health or other shit.

There’s no right way to report a player being out with a suppression order lol. Just follow the ****ing law, who gives a **** what an AFL clubs injury list reports, just. Follow. The. ****ing. Law. This issue is WAY out of league with any injury list reporting - it is as serious a charge as any player has faced since Lovett in 2010.

better than making it sound like a fake trivial finger injury

Look, let’s hope not. No one wants to see a young lady in that situation and we don’t want a talented young man in that situation either. The fact that something has happened is not good at all although we have no idea whether he is innocent or guilty. I’m sure that this is not something that is new to the AFL. The difference is that people are held accountable these days compared to the 70s, 80s and 90s. Time will tell where this case lies.

Accountability is actually very low, around 3-5% of cases end up with a positive result for the victim. I guess that’s better from 30-40 years ago.

But a great response nonetheless.

nothing there's no requirement for them to do anything this fake injury isn't fooling anyone

Who is it trying to fool?

Again, just to reiterate, in case you missed it for the 5000th time, they can’t say anything. They can’t fool anyone. They can’t try and fool anyone. They can’t take any action.

All they can do is pick one of 2-3 ways to say why he’s not playing. And even then, they can’t give any detail. They just have to put him on a list somewhere assigned for guys not currently playing. That’s it. It is literally that simple.

You haven’t discovered where they’ve hidden Jimmy Hoffa, mate.

if they aren't trying to fool anyone then why are they listing a fake injuy, he doesn't have to be on a list, you are trying to insult me that's cool you do you

No, I’m not insulting you or insulting anyone, and internet catchphrases like you do you, don’t make your point - whatever it may be - look any stronger.

He’s not playing. But he’s on our list. We have to, more or less, give some explanation as to why he isn’t in consideration for selection. But we can’t expressly say ‘it’s because he’s charged with sexual assault.’

So we have a couple of ways of doing it. They all amount to roughly the same thing.

That you struggle to accept the one we have chosen, is unfortunate, but it doesn’t make it our problem or wrong as a decision. Because whatever list we put him on in the ‘unavailable’ category, it is there simply until such time as it becomes legally possible to explain why he isn’t playing. Learn to accept it.

He was a very famous Union leader in the US who disappeared without trace 50 years ago who name is synonymous with mystery.

Find him and I’m sure you’ll crack this code as to why we have a player on the injured list and not the personal leave list.

ill wait for next weeks injury list thanks he might pop up there, note JUH is not on an injury list because guess what hes not injured

you missed the point, I also noticed Keighton Matofai-Forbes out managed 3-4 weeks, maybe managed would be better than a fake injury

Maybe. He too is not under a suppression order. Both those players and their issues can be discussed. A journalist can say to a club official ‘we noticed so and so is being managed. What’s the story?’

Again, not sure what difference it really makes. If this is your biggest gripe with this whole scenario, then maybe you need to re-evaluate where your priorities sit.
