Surely it's the witness who would be charged not the alleged victim. He's the one who was definitively shown to be lying and then admitted to it. Did the alleged victim admit to lying too?

Police had to go back to the complainant multiple times because of inconsistencies in her evidence. When the key witness admitted to lying the leading detective admitted this made her realise the complainant had been lying too.

Because the person who has confessed to lying under oath is not her - it's a third party witness.

Whether there is enough evidence for a charge of framing Bruhn... I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. There's a different burden of proof between dropping charges, and proving charges in the other direction.

You don’t get these results by ignoring complaints because he plays for GFGFC.

What a load of garbage. You don’t need to take every allegation to court in order to avoid “ignoring” a complainant.

If the complainant is heard and a proper investigation is carried out, nothing is being ignored. Whether charges proceed should depend on the evidence uncovered — not on automatically escalating every claim to a courtroom.

On one hand this really does need to be punished - you can't have people doing this sort of thing. It ruins lives of the falsely accused, and gives another reason why people would be reluctant to report sexual assault. And the Police having to cover the legal fees - well that's just indirectly out of our taxes.

On the other hand, he did admit to it eventually, so there is that. If you come down too hard then no one will ever retract false testimony again. (But it may help stop them making them in the first place)

Whilst I stand by my comments in this thread about Bruhn being in/around the Cats whilst this was ongoing not being a great look, I'm glad it turned out nothing nefarious was done on his/his mate's behalf and nobody was sexually assaulted.

As for those who threw false allegations at him and his mate, they should get the same sentence Bruh and Sinnott would've received if they were convicted.
