btw on that "there is no home ground advantage" thing, I reckon I could code a change without too much trouble that gives home teams about a 1% advantage, give or take. Wouldn't really take much. Would just be for the one executable and could shoehorn it into each Simmers version without much issue. Let me know if you're keenand I'll give you a quote.
Yep, do it and Kennedy Parker will foot the bill.btw on that "there is no home ground advantage" thing, I reckon I could code a change without too much trouble that gives home teams about a 1% advantage, give or take. I was thinking of charging the league 2 premiership points for the work. What's your thoughts?Yep, do it and Kennedy Parker will foot the bill.
Sounds fair. The league gets a free upgrade when Tigerturbulance inevitably stuffs up.I was thinking of charging the league 2 premiership points for the work. What's your thoughts?
If you are going to do it, at least wait until after this season is over. It would be unfair to teams who have played more home games than away games so far if you implemented this change mid-season.btw on that "there is no home ground advantage" thing, I reckon I could code a change without too much trouble that gives home teams about a 1% advantage, give or take. I already did have that in mind.If you are going to do it, at least wait until after this season is over. It would be unfair to teams who have played more home games than away games so far if you implemented this change mid-season.
I get why you would want it in there, but I think it would detract from the randomness of the Sim if it was implemented.btw on that "there is no home ground advantage" thing, I reckon I could code a change without too much trouble that gives home teams about a 1% advantage, give or take. Not sure what you're getting at it here. Please …
You know it's true. The 1% should come from the psychological edge not home ground advantage.
And goals should come from kicking a footy and not from the generation of random numbers. This 1%, like everything else in the Sim, represents where it would otherwise come from. You know it's true. The 1% should come from the psychological edge not home ground advantage.
Absolufreakinglutely you should. But it should be more like 10%.btw on that "there is no home ground advantage" thing, I reckon I could code a change without too much trouble that gives home teams about a 1% advantage, give or take. The small answer is : you can't allocate seasonal attributes to teams because the Sweet FA uses multiple Sim instances which means that the existence of the season is not recognised. The matches are - for all intents and purposes - all scratch matches, which the league stats & management ppl then cohese into a season frankenstyle.Absolufreakinglutely you should. But it should be more like 10%.
And if that can be done then it should be coded that teams have a x% advantage in certain conditions. Like 10% if dry, -10% if wet etc. But all teams are randomly allocated it fairly at the start of the season.
Further, give teams edges in quarters or halves. For example, 10% better performance in the first half compared with the second half and vice versa.
Furthermore, code it so you can give superpowers to three players a week. Like they get 10% more chance of getting the ball or whatever.
Every team is given the same numerical advantages, they are just allocated differently.
Yeah and to add to the above, code it so beez can get ****ed.Absolufreakinglutely you should. But it should be more like 10%.

Go Pies though
The only concern I have with Home team advantage, is that there are odd numbers of games, so some teams may have more home games then others.
I know we would try and even it up over 2 or more seasons, but for any given season it gives some teams an advantage over others.
For that reason I wouldn't change it.
