Though they are different types of player they both boast two of the best football resumes ever. Which player had/has the better career?
I am aware it may be unfair to Mitchell as he may have another 2-3 years left. I feel he is already at a level so close to Goodes I struggle to split them.
Mitchell could easily have been a two time Norm Smith medalist had votes gone his way and may already be an unannounced Brownlow medalist. Captained a premiership in 2008(although his worst grand final performance). 4 time premiership player. Likely top 2 all time brownlow medal votes at careers end.
Goodes. Two Brownlows. Two premierships. Co-captain of 2012 premiership. 8th in all time AFL/VFL games played and still put in some stellar performances in his last season.
