I have not seen or heard anything of Sam Newman in regard to Geelong's premiership win.
Was he at the game?
Has anyone seen him interviewed on tv or heard him interviewed on the radio?
Was he stoked about Geelong's win?

The King of Arm chair coaches has been flogging them for years. I doubt he'd be invited. Well done Cats, congratulations, and leave Newman behind.

And rightly so. I'll tell you right now every Geelong supporter I know has completely agreed with Newman's sentiments about Geelong the past few years. He is passionate about the club and he knew exactly where we were going wrong.

He knew when we'd win, he knew when we'd lose. Of all the 'experts' on Geelong, Newman is the only one that ever gets it right.

Geelong knows it as well, they have a great deal of respect for him. The Cats have deserved to be flogged for years, this year he didn't, because he knew we were playing the type of footy he has been telling them to play for ages. Direct and attacking. Newman is a club legend.

Always liked Sam. He lost a little bit of that "way" he had after the triple m over-reaction. But he still stands as one of the more accurate and articulate commentators on the game.

I personally believe he should be on a new rules committee, along with the retiree class of 07 (Hird, Kouta, Roo, Grant, Voss and Buckley-whether he retires or not)

sometimes it is hard to forget how passionate and comitted sam newman is to the geelong football club, when we see him acting the cranky fool every thursday night.

Sam Newman is a smart man.

Just because he acts the way he does has no bearing on how I actually rate the guy. Very smart man. Geelong is lucky to have him around, speaking his mind.

What happened? I remember when he left the box because the umpiring was terrible and was seen on a boat in the 3rd quarter of the match. Is that why?

That was the funniest bit of radio ever.

A caller rang them through the game saying the spotted him in his boat. He drove through their fishing line... muahahaha.

Sam acts like a complete & utter ******** on The Footy Show but his views about the game how its played the umpiring etc are spot on,i would think that Sam would be great addition for the rules committee, the game would get back to way we like it played without all those crap new rules that have been brought in!

Nah, caller was having a go at him and Sam called him a f#@kwit

it was the fallout from that. triple m axed him for it.
I think he'd had enough of the public thinking he was fair game and put some twat back in his place. i thought it was the funniest thing i'd ever heard.

When you portray the character Newman does you are fair game.

I generally don't mind Sammy but that was just weak, and all it showed was that some nobody was able to unsettle him.

Triple M have cut off their nose to spite their face. Sam Newman is the most informed, accurate and truthful commentator that exists and he has wit to boot. The day Triple M sacked him just showed the weekness of Triple M, not Sam Newman.

All his criticism of Geelong the past couple of years was absolutely on the money. In 2007 they played the way he had been urging them to play and look what happened.

He was at the GF and I'm certain would be over-the-moon about the win. He is happy to take a back-seat though. The man is all class.

nobody is fair game for abuse by the public. He is pretty accomodating for most people spouting off a crude opinion of him like they're best mates, but that caller copped what he deserved, a brutally accurate assessment of his wit.
I wish i remember the team Newman was on about. I think it was the tigers or hawks after a pretty woeful game of chip-chip.
