Tell me about it.

Has been raining non-stop in Brisbane today.
I am NW of Brisbane, my towns cut off.
And, alerts to phone, evac centres stood up.

Also, major flooding into Somerset and Wivenhoe Dam. Somerset at critical, with releases happening.
Seeing the images atm at Grantham, I hope we dont have a major Brisbane River flood.

I will automatically hand out a like for any George Carlin quote I see on here.

That man was a genius.

no shit, he was the righteous dude who ensured we have a most excellent future. Without him, Bill S Preston Esquire and Ted Theodore Logan would never have got an A+ in history, would have been separated when Ted was sent to Alaskan military school, and we would never have experienced* WYLD STALLIONS!!!!

*shit is yet to happen, time travel remember

What was it Shirko said this morning ??

" I SAW THIS COMING ! "

So why'd you say you could keep fuel prices down then, you arrogant dog ??????
He's in full gaslighting mode to create an image that doesn't exist.

So, you know, that is inexplicable, and I think it is important to call this out. I have never hesitated in calling these things out. I have been criticised for calling it out, but, on this, at times I have been a bit of a solo voice, but I can tell you my voice will not be silenced on this.

Yeah I was north of Brisbane today, the amount of rain reminded me of 2011.

Yeh you’ve got to remember if those Russians get helped by the Chinese who have watched a Muslim tv show while having a rug in the loungeroom that looked like a prayer mat that was made by dark skinned people who know where Australia is might want to get a boat here to take your superannuation and camp out on your front lawn. We can only hope. The second he calls it is the second we revert to domestic issues.

I think you’re right, it’s people’s lived experience of rising costs and reduced security; together with a the Realisation that this government is mean-spirited, mendacious and corrupt that will decide the outcome. As it always does.

Someof us vacillate between confidence and abject terror.

Sometimes we just need a “slap” to refocus.

My father was speculating that we could have a repeat of 2010/11, which shocked me.

Those sorts of floods used to occur every few decades.

Climate change does seem to lead to more extreme weather events; will major floods occur more often here?

Wonder if he’ll say that to Probuild staff?

Anyways, the heat here against him is probably amplified around the country…he’s toast come election time.

Yep. I said it last year he’s done. You can’t stuff everything you touch for two years and then think a war that has no relevance to everyday Aussies except petrol prices will change peoples minds.

Akin to Abbott’s “Shit happens.”

They can’t believe how smart they are, being brutally honest around the men.

When the camera isn’t there they are probably cracking jokes* about aborigines going walkabout, “Cape York time” ….. and … “time doesn't mean anything when you're about to have water lapping at your door".

[*We won’t mention the blue baby jokes around parents who have lost a child to cot death. Those are real knee slappers and piss off the PC crowd to no end.]

In Adrian McGregor's book about Greg Chappell he talks to Judy Chappell about the 1974 floods, they were new in town, Greg was obviously away and the pretty little creek at the end of the garden was now a raging torrent.

Supreme Court derails Morrison’s bid to take over NSW Liberal Party

By Michael Koziol

Updated February 25, 2022 — 5.29pmfirst published at 4.09pm

Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s bid to take over the administrative wing of the NSW Liberal Party ahead of the federal election has been dealt a blow, with the Supreme Court ruling in favour of a legal challenge brought by a member of the NSW division’s executive committee.
The decision handed down Friday afternoon does not prevent a federal takeover but will put pressure on party officials to strike a deal to endorse sitting MPs and select candidates quickly in other key seats.

That’s why Morrison, Dutton and other Liberals have gone on the offensive at China as much as they have Putin.

Listening to Morrison presser he had as much hate for China as he did Putin, as if Chinese tanks are rolling down the main streets of Kiev now, and basically saying China is complicit in this due to them not telling Putin to stop (in reality Putin’s motives have nothing to do with China). He also basically said China’s extending an olive branch and offering talks was BS and told them essentially to “f*** off”.

The Liberals are trying to conflate China with this precisely to make the Ukraine War an Australian security issue. They know there’s a lot of hate towards Chinese Australians right now, they’ve made China the main threat to Australians, so keep this war in the news and make sure the narrative is “big bad China is somewhat responsible, they could invade us too, but us Liberals will alone stop them unlike those treasonous China loving Commie wannabes in Labor”.

It’s ridiculous but hey it might work.
Our ‘perpetually aggrieved’ and USA’s deplorables are not dissimilar.

GOP voters view China as more of an “enemy” than Russia and most do not want troops deployed in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

They very much alike.
The real concern is when the aggrieved invest an individual with some projected understanding of their complaints.
And when the individual is skilled enough to exploit this, it builds a permission structure for malice, spite and group delusion.
