The percentage thing is subjective. Ive known a few people around the industry and for every horse that turns a profit and thus gets looked after it seems like there are 5-10 who dont that get tossed on the scrap heap, worse for the greyhound industry.

I think anyone with ties to the industry is a mile outside the greens wheelhouse. No judgement from me on the profession just saying i dont think they are campaigning for your vote
You could no doubt find a greyhound trainer that didn’t use ‘live kills’ (bait animals), but you’d be struggling to find five.

The parasites that continue to freeload off gamblers aren’t giving up their cruisy lifestyle anytime soon. That includes state treasurers.

Seems far fetched, but he is off his tree.

nobody under 50 ever lived in Kooyong?
back in the day (sure 1980s) quite a few families at the time (its where I went to primary school)
of course housing costs were no where near as exortionate either (85k for 4BR house in 1983)

Check the booth by booth in the last state election. Some of the priciest areas swung the hardest.

It’s a fallacy that locals won’t vote labor

Known grub, pedo-defender and LNP stooge Miranda Devine up and about today telling everybody that Morrison won the "debate" last night.

They're using the Christian Porter victory scale.
You either win or the other side loses.

If you lack morals and principles, like; Devine, Bolt and Murray you can make a lot of money despite an average intellect.
Of course and I'm sure the choice of being a hack on, say, 150k and a propagandist on 500k is a factor. But they aren't journalists, they are propagandists and doing great harm to journalism in the process. I have a little sympathy ( not a lot) for those embarking on a career as Murdoch, Stokes, and Costello have control of the media and if you work for them you are beholden to them. Hopefully, the day will come when having a licence doesn't give you the right to publish errors of fact, distortions, and blatant lies. In other words, restore some belief and respect.

Fair but also it is a pretty big part of their platform and it’s hard to argue there haven’t been some pretty serious and repeated instances of animal abuse and cruelty in that industry.
Quite apart from the abuse and cruelty, let's not forget the actual deaths as a result of horse racing.

From 1st August 20 to 31 July 21, 149 race horses died on raceday in Australia, and that figure is likely understated. :(

That's roughly a horse dying every 2 and a half days or so on average.

I think Morrison probably believes it when he says he hasn’t seen corruption as he genuinely doesn’t consider handing money to donors & pork barrelling as corrupt. He’s transactional. It’s the price of power. Has nothing to do with responsible use of public money for the common good.

Yep…. It’s practically how things work in the US…

May try and escape from work one day to get it done (have only early voted 2 times previously), bit hard to do when busy though.
The one I went to is open until 8pm weekdays if that helps (think others are the same)
