Yeah, but that kind of attitude can go for everything else, Science, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Education, Military, Police, Media etc etc, there is the trust that a person is doing the right thing based on their occupation. Else you get the shit outcome we have now. The voters shouldn't be responsible for the criminal activity of the people who were elected in. Rather the people who abused their position of power should be held to account.

Here are some organisations that should lose their license and have to sell off their assets to pay off their victims, Big four banks, AGL, Catholic church, Liberal Party, Labor Party, Murdoch press etc etc Won't happen under our sham "Democracy" though.

My feeling is Abbott is proving extremely useful at the moment to the ALP, but they wont want him still there after the election. He sticks around post election, and he likely becomes Opposition leader.

My gut tells me that they're happy to let him do what he's doing till then, and will look to blame this all on him at the election (which is true; they probably have some kind of dirt to prove it) and let the voters in his electorate boot him out (despite Abbott being of the Right of his party, his electorate is an inner city NSW Liberal Seat, with a strong 'Doctors Wives' demographic that will turn on him). They'll probably parachute someone palatable to that very demographic in there.

They want him whiteanting like crazy (he's already started on Morrisson), but they wont want him to survive the election.

I have nothing to base this on, other than reading the tea leaves, and an educated guess.

Abbott is so unpopular that if he were to take over as opposition leader next term it would guarantee at least 2 labour terms. And that's if they even choose to give him a shot. He probably has to wreck Dutton before he gets another shot which is all good for the ALP in government.

Biggest mistake our Tone made was going on SBS on election eve and saying there will be no cuts to education, health, the ABC or SBS. The f***ing idiot was already looking at a healthy majority without saying a word but no, he has to get ahead of himself and make a promise he had no intention of keeping, and it haunted him for the short period of time that he was PM.
