Mr Morrison admitted he had inherited a messy situation from the leadership spill last month but said his response was to take charge. He said the CFMEU was also in his sights.

Mr Morrison said the use of Mr Setka's children to protest the Australian Building and Construction Commission was "the straw that breaks the camel's back".

Mr Setka posted a Father's Day Tweet on Sunday featuring a photo of his two children with the caption "Leave our dads alone and go catch the real criminals you cowards".

The kids were holding a sign saying: "Go get f****d".

How do you explain the showing in the bi elections? They lost all three that they ran in and the primary vote was a disaster.
As a rule, governments don't tend to win by elections if the opposition already holds the seat. In terms of swings against, they were paltry compared to when Labor lost the seat of Canberra in 1995, or the Liberals lost Ryan in 2001.

Wanna see a bad swing?

This shows ScoMo's creeping leftie agenda and proves Turnbull is still pulling multiple strings to white-ant our great Liberal/National Coalition, having 'bi elections'. Nobody can have straight elections anymore - it's always PC-friendly 'bi' elections that swing both ways and leave a huge mess on everybodys' faces regardless of preference.

There would never be a 'bi' election under a Dutton/Abbott ticket!!!

Biggest load of shit I've ever read. What doesn't get a mention is that Morrison's supposed maneuvering can't do shit if Turncuck the most popular PM ever and uniter of the people if you believe the press of the last week or so - didn't lose 30 newspolls on the trot.
Turnball didn’t lose them. The party did. Turnball has won most preferred PM in every single one of those polls and quite comfortably too.

I thought the results were mixed, Longman was a shocker meanwhile Braddon wasn't that bad, and Mayo wasn't a surprise. If the Liberals had been smart they would have used those results to dump unpopular policies and move on but instead they choose to hit the panic button and now will be soundly beaten.

Maybe it's you that is full of it.Are you in the true blue crew or just do a bit of internet trolling when Mum's out?

True blue crew?

I get 90% of my australian news from the abc. Plenty of indigenous voices on there. Back when I paid closer attention to the print media I read plenty of indigenous commentary in the age and the oz

Maybe you can explain what dodson is on about when he says they dont have a voice?

Turnbull’s polls were recovering to the point where victory at the next election was in sight. It wasn’t guaranteed, but it wasn’t a wipeout.

People forget how unpopular Howard was for most of his PMship
The average of all the polls just before he got knifed was 53 - 47
It was going to be a slaughter

They choose to be there. They chose or their parents chose to use people smugglers. They can always choose to go home!
You do realise that they've all been assessed as being legitimate refugees? That means they all fled their homes for valid reasons. They cannot simply choose to go home.

RWNJ idiots...

Pretending that they're all economic migrants is the only way to really have this view, but it's not the truth. Example:
https://www.theguardian.com/austral...a-deports-tamil-asylum-seeker-despite-fathers
In a statement addressed to the home affairs minister, Peter Dutton, Kavi wrote: “On 5 January 2018 I received a very distressing call from my mother.

“My mother and sister were crying on the phone and she said my father had been shot dead on the farm. Up to now, no death certificate has been issued by the Sri Lankan authorities.

“I have now lost contact with my mother and sister. The last I spoke to them was on 28 March 2018. The Red Cross has been contacted to search for them. But until today I have no news about my mother and sister who are still missing.”

The Red Cross confirmed it had received the tracing request but had failed to find Kavi’s mother and sister.

The changes to Kavi’s family circumstances were detailed in a letter to Dutton on 27 June as part of an application asking him to allow Kavi to lodge a protection visa application.
Before appealing to Dutton, Kavi had been rejected four times as a refugee by Australian authorities. Having been found not to meet the criteria for refugee status by the then immigration department, he had applied for review by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and two appeals were dismissed.

Under the Migration Act, the minister has broad powers to allow someone who has had a visa refused to reapply.

Dutton did not allow Kavi to do so, despite the murder and disappearance of his family members.

Home affairs department regulations state that requests will be considered where a person makes “genuine and compelling claims” that could not have been made in their initial application.

But the department also states that the minister will not consider claims from someone who does not hold a current visa.

Kavi’s bridging visa was cancelled before his mother and sister disappeared.

The Australian government maintains it never sends people back to a place of potential harm, but that people with no lawful basis to remain in Australia are expected to return home.

Locking kids up indefinitely on a sand bar in the Pacific is all good though.
Or sending them down coal mines for 12 hours a day when you could use the army to shoot unionists. Those were the days!
And hey can everyone just get off the case of those poor priests who just want to show children how much they love them.
We need to concentrate on the real victims here, children who are informed about politics!
