It should be mandatory for politicians to be on median salary (including partner), and they are required to sell off all assets and have their savings taken off them (including those of their partner) - which become part of the federal/state budget. Additionally they can only use electronic funds, under close scrutiny of ASIO. Then politicians will start acting in the best interests of representing Australia and Australians.

Some might argue - "but what about trying to attract the best and brightest into politics?"
Answer - "Let's get serious here please"

Financial, I think he is an ordinary Joe where as Dutton on a policeman's/parliamentarian salary has managed to accumulate 4 residential investment properties, his principal residence and a couple of Child Care centres.
