I don't actually understand the outrage on this one. It's not like he is simply praying and nothing else. He's very openly a Christian and I'm not sure why you'd expect him not to pray about a crisis like this. And in a country where the last census revealed a majority of people identify with the Christian faith, a majority of people would support him praying for wisdom, guidance and deliverance.
And social distancing was respected

Like Trump. Scomo seems to be leading a stellar team ..

Frydenberg, Dutton, Cormann, Tehan ... and particularly Brendan Murphy and Greg Hunt.

Scomo's creation and leadership of the National Cabinet has proved inspiring.

When the going gets tough the tough get going --- so true. Before our very eyes.

Luvvies left lamenting.
You will find lefties are happy with the policies that are being delivered so likely do not care it comes from LNP, policy not personality or partisan team is what is important

But news is a chunk of policy is from Labor.

Anyone that believes in personal freedoms and civil liberties knows what type of person that Andrews is. Absolute scum.
Personal insults aside, he's a genuine leader compared to Morrison. Free priority TAFE courses, ease west link tunnel up and running, Metro rail loop underway, level crossing removals and so on. Planning for the long term future of the state. Unlike Scomo planning for election campaigns.

So who is calling the shots? National Cabinet?
Dan Andrews was the first to tell him to take it more seriously.

Precisely. State premiers and their health departments are running this show.

Murdoch/Reinhardt/Palmer/Twiggy etc have conceded and are not managing Morrisson anymore. They will not have let go of the strings entirely though.

I think they're just waiting for this all to pass over, whilst letting the government do what is necessary to get us past this and keeping tabs on what's actually going on, to ensure that they're not badly effected by policy. Afterwards, they'll yank his chain again, and it'll be back to business as usual.

The trick will be, will the Australian people swallow neoliberalism again? Will defunding services that saved them still be a big vote winner? If he comes out of this with a good track record, he's guaranteed at least another term. If he comes out of this neutrally and tries to shove an Abbott-like budget at us, he's going to be in for a torrid time.

On the 29th of March, the "media" was effusive in it's praise for Morrisons “eviction moratorium” but where is it, this moratorium? F****ng nowhere, only a press release. The lying bastard is Scotty from marketing and that's what he will always be - f****ng disgrace.
It's been passed to the S/Ts to enact in their legislation, I'm pretty sure.

Reds under the bed eh?

As Twiggy said, sometimes you need to move away from the normal purchasing practices:

Medical supplies and PPE potentially bound for Australia are being snapped up by representatives of other nations carrying suitcases of cash, as countries around the world resort to increasingly aggressive tactics to secure scarce pieces of medical equipment.
Iron ore billionaire Andrew Forrest, whose charitable foundation, Minderoo, is effectively acting as the commonwealth’s procurement agent in China, said the methods used by other countries were as cutthroat as anything he had seen in his business career.

Minderoo’s first consignment arrived from China on Thursday and another two shipments arrived at the weekend. The third plane landed in Perth on Sunday morning carrying 500,000 masks, 200,000 medical-grade gloves and 37,000 medical coveralls.
Minderoo has one key tool at its disposal: a letter from China’s ambassador to Australia, Cheng Jingye, describing the foundation as a friend of China.

Spot on with Dan. As for ScoMo, are you a rusted on type, he's doing a good job. Get over the last election.

The challenge for both is in front of them.

Maybe I'm just insular and paying attention to local issues, but I can't think off the top of my head of good programs implemented by Morrison. Happy to hear them. National news is harder to come across than state news in Melbs

 Luuuurrrrvvveeerrrrrrrrrrssss

On a side note, we're watching a future PM earning his stripes. One of the more obvious calls to come out of this shitfight.

Now, get back to work.

Quite understandable to me, but having a daughter in the front line, I understand there are plenty of dills out there ras, & ScoMo is fine.
I wish Morrison was doing better than fine, in my opinion he could have been great but at this rate he'll be good once all is said and done.

I think one of the things that annoys me so much is that he waffles in his responses, he's not Berejiklian who wants to say everything at a mile a minute but his messaging isn't as clear as Andrews or McGowan from what I've seen.

ScuMo: Don't leave home at Easter. It's dangerous.
Also ScuMo: Sure teachers can lock themselves in a classroom with 25 kids.
Code for we’re taking away from you your personal liberties for something that amounts to the flu.
It Hasnt Got A Bomb, It Hasnt Got A Gun, It Hasnt Even Got A Knife. But It Will Kill U n It's Invisible. Best Marketimg EVER.

You shoulda buried him when you had the chance.
Too late now comrades.
He gotcha.
How do you feel supporting the most left-ist Prime Minister in living memory?

You are wearing dark glasses at midnight.
This left/right stuff has even less relevance today that it has on polling day, irrelevant.
I agree, just replying to a poster who spouts it more than anyone on here.

Look, as far as I am concerned, the manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment, medical masks and equipment and medicines in general, must be manufactured in Australia because if anyone needed convincing that these things are part of the national interest and critical to the welfare and wellbeing of Australia, then these times surely have convinced even the most sceptical.

The right wing, Thatcherite Governments that we have saddled ourselves with have gutted the CSIRO, destroyed the research and innovations industries and have gutted the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services in order to transfer the "savings", into the pockets of overseas conglomerates and the wealthy few. They have opened us up and left us at the mercy of the "markets".

It's not "socialism" or anything like that, it is common sense. We should not be relying on any other country or "market" for these critical things at anytime let alone in times such as these and what we also need, is Governments to ban the sale of such items to anyone/country until such time as there are more than enough of these materials stockpiled to meet the requirements of a pandemic/epidemic at a minutes notice.

These tragic and desperate times must ram home to us, that is, all Australian citizens, that we need to be prepared for such eventualities and not allow such a situation to arise where we are as ill-prepared as we were this time around.

We need to do what is required at whatever cost because after all, it's not as if we are a nation that is resource poor - we have vast wealth and that wealth belongs to all of us and must be used to protect our lives and not solely for making profits for multinationals and corporations.
