I will continue to listen and respect the views of Kwality until he ceases to post, but he is genuinely wrong in turning this into a partisan shitshow, as wrong as he has ever been.

This is no mere stance taken for the sake of partisanship. This is a protection racket, victimising women within the very government. It makes me tragically sad that he cannot see that.

I am talking about what looks like a pattern within the sitting government, a pattern of enforced silence and of reshuffling to protect individuals who without said protection would be seen as the predators they are. I didn't go off half cocked; I watched, I read the various sources that have emerged since, I've paid attention. I've watched as a rather singular narrative has emerged, with the only opposition position being to try to shut it down; when the only response to something is an attempt to silence it, there's a genuine sign that there's a fire hidden in behind all that smoke.

There is a reason I refer to them as the sitting government, as opposed to the Libs, or the Coalition. This is a view I would hold regardless of who had done this, whether I agreed with their politics or otherwise. To depict my viewpoint or others in the way you have is to disenfrancise each and every person who looks upon this as a principle worth having is repellent.

I respect your views, most of the time. I regard them as well thought through, even as I do not agree with them.

I do not see your position on this to this point as having any worth whatsoever.

It is the Morrison government are so devoid of ethics or standards that they are prepared to cover up a rape to win.

And the system is so devoid of checks and balances that they can get away with it.

You routinely disenfrancise or declare as not worth much those you think as barrackers. I don't have a massive problem with that; you're entitled to your own opinion, and certainly people whose views are inconsistent in either direction need be called out.

I do not see any value in declaring any position that's decrying this as having worth. This time, this is not something that can be partisan. This is not something that there are two sides of equal or differing merit. This is singular, and involves the need to hold power to account.

I would have thought that you would utterly have been across this. You read/watch more news than I do.
