Lol, so you're saying you'll win every game except the one against the Dockers?...

Hah. You'll win the Freo game, and lose three others. Truth hurts.

But hey, I hope you guys have a shot anyway, you're almost at your peak... you might as well use it for the better. You won't gain anything if you quit early.

But I hope you can understand, as a Bombers supporter, I'd probably love to see you crumble miserabley as well. :D

Bad luck today.

Hawthorn; lose in a tough fought game by 3-4 goals.;)

Hey you thin skinned w***ers, ya just gotta hang tough. Yeah, its fu<ken painfull, I'm 47 and and have seen 1 flag, but unlike others I've seen I will never change clubs.
A true supporter sticks thru thick and thin
A true supporter hangs in there, kicks the dog, swears at the misses, gets it off their chest and hopes the world will turn black & white tomorrow. But sometimes it dosn't.

Collingwood if you fall out of the 8 I'll be right behind you crying my eyes out.
Always black & white till I die.

Even at our absolute worst the Pies are still a worthier team than all the others put together.

Frustrated Supporter Tip #1
If you have a few frustrations to get out of your system go onto a Homeopathy forum site and question the credibility of the methods used....it's a bloody hoot...better fun than bagging Carltank supporters, easier than picking off dockers fans and it takes your mind off the footy for a while.

Hi folks. Now I know that most on this site will not appreciate this but I do not see us winning more than 1, or at best 2, games between now and the end of the season. Given that and the reputed strength of this years' NATIONAL draft would we be better off LONG-TERM in losing all 5 and getting as low as we can on the AFL ladder so as to benefit from the draft? I am starting to think so because to be totally realistic even if we finish in the top 8 we will be lucky yo get past the first week. Therefore by taking the other strategy we may be able to pick up either a top (and hopefully sppedy and kiled) mid-fielder, or a top full-forward, or god forbid, even a top ruckman which would be a great result as we sure do not have any of those 3 on our rather over-rated lst ast the present time. I am leaning towards the latter.

PS: WHY DOESN'T MALTHOUSE EVER QUESTION HIS OWN COACHING PERFORMANCE ON GAME DAY AS WELL AS THOSE OF THE TEAM THAT HE PUTS OUT ON THE PARK?

One thing you all forget is so far this is all a repeat of last year. As far as I remember we were going about as woefully this time last year, after a brief rally after the mid year break. so far it seems a carbon copy of last year so it's obvioulsy premature to throw it in now. If it continues to go to script (and it's a big "if" obviously) we will suddenly start playing great footy in the finals and go close to or get the big one.
A lot of other teams have improved this year like richmond, essendon, carlton, brisbane, hawthorn and dogs, but only the last 2 will make the 8 so they could be the main stumbling blocks in our quest for Geelong's scalp.
Something else that needs to be in the script is a youngster or 2 to emerge for the finals, just like Rusling did last year. Or could Jack be our Rusling for this year? And we need Rocca back and firing and preferably a mature mid or 2 like brodie and Lonie, and obviously a fit and fresh Josh would be rather handy.

No doubt it sucks to lose games we feel we should win.

We are still a relatively young team and young teams are inconsistent and get fatigued.

We are playing with half our forward line and #1 ruckman out injured. When you look at the cattle that we are without we have actually done alright to hang in there as well as we have this year.

MM seems to have some match day limitations at the moment to be sure. However, he has managed to rebuild our team, with young players, over the last few years without us having to spend years at the bottom of the ladder.

If you have a look at our list, any expectation that we should be a real finals contender is pretty far fetched. We have a group of players that need a couple of years more development before we will hit our straps.

The only real negative I see is the skills development of many of our players. It seems we have a number of players who struggle with consistency in disposal and this needs to addressed.

We are ranked 16th for frees for this year. It frustrates the sh*t out of me. If we were some physically intimidating team that played at the limits you might understand it, but we are not. An old Carlton supporter at the game yesterday told me that in his 50 years of watching football it was the most biased umpiring display he had seen. We lost yesterday because we were beaten fair and square but our constant inability to earn the same frees that are paid to the opposition, especially in front of goals, is sending me nuts.

I think the loss hurts the most because to sum it up we are facing cold hard truths.

Melbourne supporters know that they are rebuilding and don't expect to play finals this year. They go to games expecting to lose but happy to know they are on the right track.

Sides like Richmond and Essendon were meant to be rebuilding but are actually playing some good footy. Their fans are still not expecting to be real contenders in September but they don't care.

We on the other hand did not see this year as rebuilding and although we have a very young core group of players, expected those players to be seriously knocking on the door.

Whilst all is not lost from the last few weeks, we have been slapped in the face with a realisation that we aren't as good as we thought we were. Many of us (including me) thought that with the right run and a bit of luck we were an actual chance of winning a premiership this season, right now though the reality must sink in. There's more chance of me winning Powerball.
