I had a cheeky 10 minutes at Crown before I came for the warm-up. I always choose the Rhino pokies machine because I never lose. On my 134th button press, I had 4 rhinos come up. It was brilliant! I walked out with a profit of 34c and a free mini can of coke. I now have over 50 mini soft drink cans.

Welcome to the Corporate Dome for what looks a bit of a mismatch between the young South Australians and the undefeated might of Metro, Vic. As you can probably guess, Vic Metro enter this game without a loss, accounting for both the other heavyweights in this competition: WA and Vic Country. SA on the other hand, fell at the first hurdle against NSW&ACT before rebounding against The Allies at home. This week has seen a changeover in the SA bots, as The Simpsons replace Community. Full forward and captain The Doctor11 has been about average so far this tournament but will need to lift to provide a contest against drd23, who has been very good so far. The South Australian midfield has been patchy, with hdecure and coopers impressing.

Meanwhile the Vic Metro midfield has been led by beez who has had a couple of extraordinary games while Eth has been very poor. Juggalo Balla has had a boom game to follow his bust in the first game, while Gilbert_Hodge has been lively up front.

Well Vic Metro look a bit shellshocked after that first quarter and well they might be. SA have pulled out a blinder to lead this contest (if you can call it that) by 5 goals at the first break. SA didn't allow the ball into Metro's forwardline after the 5 minute mark and dominated play entirely in the 20 minutes that followed. Their midfield and forwardline have been excellent, while Metro have really struggled to stop the flow of scoring let alone get the ball into their half of the ground. It's going to take an almighty effort to run this deficit down before the end of the game. But if there's one team in this competition who have a chance, it's Vic Metro.

It's half time and the margin is 30 points, exactly where it was at quarter time. But all is not as it was 25 minutes ago as Vic Metro showing that their forwardline is not toally dysfunctional while the midfield managed to give them a bit more work to do than in the first term. Still, they kicked 4.2, the same as SA, and they'll need to work twice as hard to get into a position to win this game. And you would have to think, given the way they have played in last quarters so far this tournament, that they would need a 4-5 goal lead at three quarter time to be in a winning position, and that is very unlikely to happen.

For Vic Metro, Gilbert_Hodge has two superb goals and DemonJim 3 but they're the sole goalscorers. Meanwhile for SA it's 2.3 to The Doctor11 and singles to christoh, andonis1997, Dagless, sausageroll, Loopy_cam and hdecure.
 
My question is why would you take your only goal kicker from the Forward flank where he's doing a fair job bench him and then put him in the Forward Pocket... Coach has no idea whatsoever!

Well... let's all catch our breaths! What a quarter from Metro! Seven goals one behind to one goal five behinds. The SA half-back line was firmly penetrated in that term and in the end looked loose and distended from the punishment they took. SA looked totally incapable of stemming the bloodflow and not even stuffing Rhodesy_Blues up there could slow the crimson rain of goals.

Isn't it funny how premature we can be in our analysis. With hindisght it's clear Metro were worried they wouldn't be able to run out the full game so, rather than hitting the front early and watching it get eroded in the last term, they've paced themselves to run out the full game. I Wholeheartedly expect them to demolish SA now and there's no doubt in my mind that The South Australians are going to need a truly special effort to keep the scoreline respectable and limit the damage tot their percentage which is clearly on the way. Let's see what dramatic conclusion this game will come to next!

Well I don't think anyone saw that coming. Metro fell in a hole in the first half of that quarter to gift the game to South Australia. They have showed that they are a very capable team and brought their A-game in the first and last terms to put Metro to the sword. Metro gave a yelp in the third but threw it away and will need to look closely at their match fitness: this is the third last quarter in a row where they have looked terrible. For South Australia Jonts, hdecure and Coopers continured to show promise while Dagless was fantastic in the ruck and around the ground. The Doctor11 could have buried Metro but his accuracy was atrocious, with only three goals from nine scoring shots. Rhodesy_Blues was phenomenal against Easty and Homer got into the game as soon as he was moved onto the hapless Metro Co-Captain. For Metro, beez got a heap of it but wasn't as effective as he would have liked. Eth was servicable while Gilbert_Hodge and DemonJim were exciting infront of goals.

Disappointing effort from Metro... I did a bit of a Cyril where I was there for some important plays in the game... but then went missing in the second half. Although some poor delivery to the forward line...
