Need to have a sustainable model. Whoever appointed Nick Jewell was always going to drink from the poison chaliceThose clubs that will struggle in 2026 should be forced to take their medicine before going down in the next couple of years. Pathetic
Just to be absolutely clear. There is absolutely no truth to the rumour of East Brighton requesting to go down. Genuinely laughable. They're not the only club. Appears that there's a self demotion battle going on between 2 clubs
Holt back at cranny and assistant coach as well is interesting, may still kick a few in div 2 but mainly there as a help for kids
Not sure but he’s played not far off 300 at cranny plus 3 seasons elsewhere so got to be getting on.How old is Holt? been around for ages but will be great to have back around the club.
Briggs is a great pick up and is well and truly up to div 1 southern, would have cost a bit

A much better comp and on much better money. Not sure what is so difficult to comprehend. The loss of Matt O'Brien at St Pauls is huge. How they lose him is beyond me. He is a ball magnet. He was a junior through their program. Twice won their best and fairest and second once and one year out injured with a knee. O'Brien Played 5 games in the Collingwood VFL side and Tom Mitchell was very impressed by him. They should have thrown as much money at him as they can. How they lose their best player is beyond me?
Definitely a better comp. But gee, you need to keep those iconic players that have come through your juniors and win senior b and fs with 10 years of great play in front of them. There are certain players that you have to do anything to keep.A much better comp and on much better money. Not sure what is so difficult to comprehend.
Local footy is littered with clubs whose demise is directly linked to breaking the bank on one or two players. If rumours are true a couple within this division are in serious strife for doing exactly that. No one player is bigger than the club and sometimes to preserve the fabric of the place you are better off letting them go. St.Pauls not known for paying big bucks. Have also been in Div 1 for longer than I can remember and regularly at the pointy end. To an outsider I think their culture and way they operate is pretty strong.Definitely a better comp.
