As an ex coach happy to make my way around the grounds from here on …

Was keen to start at the vampires and put a visual on what we witnessed in what was an impressive outfit in divi 2 finals (divi 1 side all over ) last year

EB will cause some headaches for all sides - some youth now added to the mix …mid/ forward half strong .. in fact I’d go as far to say if E.B had kept there fab 3 in the back half in Harris, Head and Backman I’d declare EB in the top 3/4 .. all 3 missing , Retired ?

Tall Timber in Corp & Lamb and what looked like to my visuals ex Pines livewire M.Backman, dangerous front 3 with Ex YCW Gun Hutchison and Downie prominent in the midfield the vampires were flowing

mordi have a crack but class difference very noticebale , brave at the contest but a long season beckons, Defender on Lamb brilliant 1 v1

Springvale v Dingley

Speed of game noticebale from previous half watched other 2 teams - 2 well structured sides , class gap evident though , TDL had them by the nads forward 50 , Siposs patrolling the wings- exit strategy D50 for dingley, get ball out , kick siposs wing. To my eye springy reliant on a system and structure and troops falling in line ? Need game breakers to go deep .. they are a ‘watch this space’ … but generally dingley very impressive. Roles adhered to , sharing of the ball , first options.. onwards and upwards

Finished with a beer at the Bentleigh derby - doggies just show up consistently dont they? Coach spoke well at intervals , dogs committee should be commended. Kreymborg bullish forward of centre, dogs mids bullied bentleigh at the contest, bentleigh foot skills? Poor. Wasteful early and the tide was swimming 1 direction after half time … bentleigh coach been given an almighty task, has plenty of kids to work with to build bentleigh up but a lot of clubs committees get impatient ….

Similar thoughts with me. I’m not privy to any inside info about the ongoings at Mordialloc but something isn’t sitting right with the club at the moment. Already think they will likely not win a game this year. Their 2s also have 0 depth so come the winter months it could be a slog for them.

They seemed to be on the up a few months ago - announcing tons of new signings mostly from St Bedes. Although I’ve heard nearly only all lasted a month at Mordi and went back to Mentone….

East Brighton very classy though. Definite chance for top 5. The MPNFL boys are quality.

St Paul’s were just a class above Bentleigh in the end. Foot skills won them the game. Bentleigh had plenty of chances to even the game back up but wayward kicking in front of goals and overall poor disposal % cost them.

Think the big challenge for St Paul’s will be the winter months. Their top end is stacked but their 2s fall off incredibly quickly and depth has always been an issue with them in recent times.

Peninsula All Stars AKA East Brighton due to halfish of their 1s being former MPNFL greats. Although Hurlingham is on Nepean Hwy and the Hwy basically stretches to Peninsula anyways ;)

Im sure EB are pleased to start off with a win on their return to Div1 but more than aware against a side that will struggle in Div 1 this year
You were correct it was Mitch Backman returning from pines and head Harris and tommy Backman are all currently injured but will return next 2-4 weeks

If you are talking about 2 blokes that were cleared to mpfnl , I think maybe they signed contracts for season 2024 at Mordi.
Maybe those players / mpfnl clubs settled to be released from contracts .

Are you talking about those players or others?
If others please give more substance
