He has been nothing short of absolutely pathetic the last 2 weeks.
And this simply is not good enough as the captain of a team who is rebuilding.
And it isn't just that he is playing badly, but he could not give a toss.
Typified by his performance last night on TV, smiling and passing off the Essendon loss as a minor issue in a completely deluded state.
To me, it just reinforces the belief that he is a woeful captain, and could not care less about the future of the club. Last year, and so far this year, have been nothing short of pathetic when analysed as a pure captain.
This is simply not good enough when we are trying to crack the enigma of an horrible culture that is Fremantle. Imagine how dispiriting it is for the young guys to have this Tarzan playing as Jane leading you, knowing he wont give you any physical protection at all.
So is it time to set the ultimate example? To give a signal we have not once in 15 years? That no matter how good you are, if you are failing, it simply isn't good enough, and you need to go.
Obviously, he is one of the best forwards in the comp. But that doesn't mean anything if he doesn't care. So what could we expect in a trade for him?
It is possible Port may have about pick 5. Adelaide, no idea. But would you be happy to trade Pav for say, Dangerfield, van Berlo and their round 1 pick?
We wont win a premiership with Pav, so could we do something mutually beneficial where he gets a crack at one, and we get very good players who would be the right age for OUR good kids?
Pav has 5-6 years left in him, depending on motivation and injuries. Right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire in 2 years though with his lack of complete interest.
So is it time to set the ultimate example, putting the ultimate foot down, and doing something so monumental at our club, it wont be forgotten for a generation?
That time is drawing near in my opinion.
