He has been nothing short of absolutely pathetic the last 2 weeks.

And this simply is not good enough as the captain of a team who is rebuilding.

And it isn't just that he is playing badly, but he could not give a toss.

Typified by his performance last night on TV, smiling and passing off the Essendon loss as a minor issue in a completely deluded state.

To me, it just reinforces the belief that he is a woeful captain, and could not care less about the future of the club. Last year, and so far this year, have been nothing short of pathetic when analysed as a pure captain.

This is simply not good enough when we are trying to crack the enigma of an horrible culture that is Fremantle. Imagine how dispiriting it is for the young guys to have this Tarzan playing as Jane leading you, knowing he wont give you any physical protection at all.

So is it time to set the ultimate example? To give a signal we have not once in 15 years? That no matter how good you are, if you are failing, it simply isn't good enough, and you need to go.

Obviously, he is one of the best forwards in the comp. But that doesn't mean anything if he doesn't care. So what could we expect in a trade for him?

It is possible Port may have about pick 5. Adelaide, no idea. But would you be happy to trade Pav for say, Dangerfield, van Berlo and their round 1 pick?

We wont win a premiership with Pav, so could we do something mutually beneficial where he gets a crack at one, and we get very good players who would be the right age for OUR good kids?

Pav has 5-6 years left in him, depending on motivation and injuries. Right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire in 2 years though with his lack of complete interest.

So is it time to set the ultimate example, putting the ultimate foot down, and doing something so monumental at our club, it wont be forgotten for a generation?

That time is drawing near in my opinion.

Fantastic post... you're my round 2 nominee for the inaugural White Ant of the Year award...

Why not cash in for him, this board recognises theres a large number of duds on the list or under performing middle of the road players. Basically theres 5 or 6 players left to finalise the clear out process. To compensate for that by getting a large quantity of good players may be beneficial.

In theory it could set you guys up similar to our Judd deal, fair enough we're spending a couple years at the bottom but now have come out of it with a lot of potentially good players and finding list management very difficult. So far on your board i see names been thrown around as certainty future delistings. Thats something we dont have on ours.

However i dont see Freo doing something this outlandish. Not even Freo.

This post would not have even been funny if you had posted it on April fools day. What a moron, what an insult to the man.No wonder we never go anywhere with moronic supporters like you.
i hope you stay in canberra where all the meat heads are.Stay there with the pollies who never make good decisions.

Every offer should be considered for trade week, in the trade period. Not Round 2. Pav is a required player and will be until he wants to leave. His children and his children's children will also be required players.

You could easily get 3 top 20 picks from GC for him, IMO. Probably 2 top 10 picks included in that. I know what you are trying to say CD, and its forward thinking, but will your club have the same mindset?

So was Josh Carr.

And CK, I doubt Pav would go to GC17. Would only accept a move to SA IMO.

But for all the crying and bleating the only catch cry ever seems to be:

"Sack the coach!"

Why not, sack the captain? (Or making an example out of him.)

After all, they're the one on the field.

If we traded Pav we would have a team that would not be too dissimilar to the team of 2001, perhaps worse.
No, we are playing worse than 01.

And to make it even harder to swallow, compared to then, our present captain doesn't have a heart.

So what difference would it make?

I dont see why people are so critical of CD's suggestion. If you cant win a premiership with Pavlich, trade him off and reap the benefits. Other clubs would give their left nut for him (seeing thats not possible a combination similar to the Judd deal would suffice)

Trading Pavlich now would set you up in future for a premiership tilt, as it would fasttrack bringing quality to the side as well as giving the possibility to remove the rest of the deadweight at the club. Then as a result if you resorted back to your pre01 days, then you could load up on better draft picks and make amends for prior mistakes.

True that, though not sure if one of the SA clubs can give you the same what GC17 can.

Whether its ridiculous or not in concept, the reality is the GC would not be interested because he's too old for them.

Too old? He would be the perfect fit for them. Still in his prime and if Reiwoldt doesn't want to be there, he can be the FF or CHF.

You've got a short memory CD. You are simple man wanting a head to roll aren't you. Pav has play nearly 200 games for Freo. How many has he been disinterested for?
Are you still hurting from the Geelong game where he kept us in the game but mist a kick fro 48m on a 50% angle?
I've got a proposition. Let's sack CanberraDockworker and all of the other whiteants so the club can get on with ironing out some bugs. This is a new team which will take time to gel. If it where up to you Peake would be streaming through half fwd kicking goals against us not for us, Mundy would be laconically strolling around our forwards delivering lace out passes to his forwards for his new team and Sandi would be putting it down the thraot of Judd or Mitcheel or someone.
Grow a brain and understand the turnover our list just went through.

Would Canberra Dockworker make this thread using his usual name (which is currently red carded)? Good to see you've got your home boys here to back you up again Chops :thumbsu:

All the eagles supporters think we should trade Pav, there's a surprise.

Soulless club, soulless supporters.

You guys are seriously struggling to deal with this hypothetical.

Come on, ADDRESS THE ISSUES RAISED!

What better way to seriously give our culture a massive kick in the arse?

And at the same time set ourselves up for a SERIOUS crack at a flag.

What does everyone else propose us to do?

Drift along on the same old ocean, unable to deal with the smallest ripples?

Are you happy with what we have dished up? Do you want that to continue? And what do you seriously suggest we do to change that in the future?

I'm not saying this is what we should do, but if things don't change, surely something so radical with such a strong message could land a bomb and finally kill the cockroaches that have never left the cracks of our club.

Come on, play the ball!

He is 27 now. Still a few years till they start up, they'd be lucky to get a good season or two out of him, and that would be while they are still shit.
