First Showdown that actually matters for ages.

2009 Port were average.
2010 and 2011 we both were average
2012 Port were average again

Finally a win actually matters. Should make for a cracking game.

I hope they play both Cassisi and Gray, and only go in with one ruckman.

If Lobbe is playing, they are going in with one Ruckman and one tall redhead with short arms who is named Ruck.

So who here is attending? Cat 1 member, buying a ticket, using a Port membership ticket, jumping the gate or will be playing on the field?
Playing on the field, duh.... they gave me the number 32 for a reason! At Crowmania that is...

On ticketing though, it sucks that as a Gold member you still can't get access to a Power home game. But alas, I'll be in the Northern Grandstand with mates as always for a Showdown.

Tambo has not been named in the squad

Dom has been. Surely he would play? Senior (former captain) player named and not playing would be a bit odd/disrespectful?
I thought their best 22 was too good for Dom to get into now, isn't that what the Advertiser sprouted at one point this week?

I'll be there.......no, wait. I live in Tassie. Foxtel:thumbsu:

Gave the kids and the missus plenty of warning time that the TV is mine 4.30pm on Sunday (Tassie time)

Ahh well mate... I'll pour 2 Coopers SuperDrys drink one myself and one in your honour. :p

Ok if we're playing that game... I hope the following all play for various reasons: SMack, Callinan, Johncock, Siggins, Angwin, Goodwin, Bickley, Bode, Burton and Biglands. :D:D

Just cover all bases... just in case some player posted here randomly. :)

Well if any of the current players were really struggling (or injured) he would be in, but they're not thus far. I imagine in time the following might happen:

- Gray in for Neade (if he starts slipping or needs to managed through the 1st season).
- Dom in for Mitchell (if they want Mitchell to get more gametime in the SANFL).
- Moore in for anyone whose form starts to drop... potentially: Wines, Broadbent, P. Stewart, O'Shea, Stevenson or Heath.

Surely Gray's position isn't dependent on Neade. Gray is an immensely talented player and should walk into your side if fit.

That's the key phrase here.

Last year we would've rushed Gray in. This year, we can afford to wait until his fitness and form demands selection because the current 22 is actually performing for the first time in a long time. When his fitness and form does demand selection, we'll certainly find room for him somehow because he's one of our best players, but it hasn't yet.

If u believed anything written about the power you'd expect them to be in the top 4 mate

Just like if you believed everything written by the local rag about the Crows you'd of expected them to have won the last three Premierships....

And nor should he after Johncock kicked 7 goals on him last week.

Whilst Neade leads the AFL in score involvements and score assists he wont be going anywhere. if Neade slips or needs a rest Gray will come in as forward... otherwise Gray will have to prove his fitness and show BOG form to force out someone else (Mitchell, P Stewart, Broadbent).

Gray and Cassisi have been confirmed at this point as playing for Westies. Who knows what can happen between now and then though

They'll end up playing for the Magpies and the tears will immense... ;)

Heard a joke today... 3 blokes in a life raft a collingwood supporter and Crow supporter and a power supporter.
Shit this is only a 2 man boat one of us has to make the ultimate sacrifice says the Collingwood supporter. So they all toss coins. Subsequently the Collingwood supporter jumps in and is eaten by the sharks. "Shit the poor bloke!" said the Power supporter. to lose your life on a toss of a coin how freakin unlucky was that? Nah Mate! said the Crow supporter "I lost the toss"

So, a full stadium and 2 teams coming off a win!

This is unusual for a Showdown of late so I'm looking forward to seeing a replay. I'll be in the air during the game and don't think it will be shown on the flight :(

Showdowns have been lacking over the last few years but I would expect the opposition will be in full voice so we should see a very exciting contest...........For the first 10 Minutes at least:D

Perhaps the Port boys talking about our decline because of losing to Essendon maybe have underestimated Essendon as most of us have

Essendon- April Premiers 2 years running
Last year they were decimated by injury, if they keep it together I can't seem them having such a big fall. Fully fit, they really don't have areas of weakness.

Their game plan seems to be one that would accumulate injuries as the players bodies get more and more tired, so i can't see it lasting. Much like last year

They may have all premiership points taken anyway!

There's banter and then there's vindicative banter. Apparently Luke Brown is a prick. He gave Port some shit on the radio so that means he must have had it coming when he was assaulted. Port supporters living up to their feral reputation.

We might be undefeated in our first 3 rounds ;)
