In all seriousness, if someone had planned to do a proper write up feel free to start a new thread.

I hope you all enjoy my preview:

Crows play Port this Saturday night and I hope we win.

Such nuance I love it 🥰

I see McHenry got a fine for kicking Alex Georgiou so he’s still free to play if selected

Kicking other players...

...I’m disappointed we haven’t picked him earlier

Apart from the win, a key aspect of this game for me is seeing how RoB goes against Lycett and Ryder.

Not expecting him to win the Showdown Medal as Jacobs routinely did against Ryder, but think he will give a good showing against two genuine Rucks of decent quality.

On a side note. How many teams doing well this year have two pure Rucks and not a part timer Ruck/KPF. I know Ryder spends time up forward, but he ain't a Forward.

Also

Ebert probably out for concussion
Wines ankle

Gray hand

Also, we’re in front in the Showdown count, I’d forgotten

I yelled at Hinkley and asked him after the last Showdown what the new ledger was.

We want Wines to play, his return has stuffed up Rockliff, plus he can’t kick.

We need ROB to stand up big time, can’t let their inside mids beat ours.

If we bring the heat like we did against Freo I think they will struggle to cope, we just need to curb their run.

As others have said, another big test for ROB (he's passing them so far!). If their rucks start to dominate, I want Greenwood and CEY given plenty of mid square time along with Sloane...they are more defensively minded/skilled than the Crouch's. If it's breaking even, back our normal line up.

Our obvious weakness that 2019 Port could exploit is lack of pace and quality on the outside in both an attacking and defensive sense. We could easily improve this by selecting McHenry and Jones. Their offensive output wont be much different stats wise than the incumbents but they will use the ball better and most importantly, their defensive contests and running power will be far superior.

Win our share of the contest but don't play stupid Crows footy of leaving the exits free for their outside players to run amok. Pressure their ball movement enough and we will feast all day on turnovers. If our pressure is substandard, they could have a day out.

just been over the Port board catching up on their hysterics over the prison bars... please oh please AFC roll on out with a tri-colour prison bars away strip this week

According to our away strip, white is one of our colors so Navy Blue and white prison bars, maybe with yellow arm hole rings and a red collar. I don't want to see them wear it on the field but would be a good piece of merch to sell before showdowns.

What I don’t get is why Seven think Saints v West Coast will be better to show than the Showdown. Surely the non Saints Vic supporters would prefer to watch the better game?

Caro has ruddy nailed it. It's something we've been saying for years but it's great to hear it from a Vic personality on a Vic show. I don't give a shit if Port got their Showdowns as the Friday night ones, the game just deserves it. I don't know what avenues there are but bitter rivalries aside, it's something both teams should be united in demanding and working towards. Fair chance this Showdown will end up a slightly better spectacle than Sydney V Essendon.

My main concern is how we run out the game. Port coming off an 8 day break after a game in which they barely broke a sweat (although they probably should have tried that), we're coming off 6 days and a game that was really high-intensity from start to finish. If it's close at 3/4 time I reckon they might be able to run over us with fresher legs.

Both teams 4-3 but feels like we've had very different seasons for some reason

Feels like we've been mostly shit but have ground out a positive W/L whilst Port have been positive but with not too much to show for it on face value.

EDIT: I can't believe the rude word for poo has been censored on here!
