Probably middle of the ladder at best a few of there senior players are x keysy 2s players that are regular senior players at St. John’s and there 2s are very average if they want to play finals they will have to recruit a few I think them coming in is going to put more strain on numbers around the area which is struggling these days even Doveton who has always had good numbers over the years struggled to fill there 2s and no juniors at any of these clubs which used to have really good numbers a
Lot of migrants with kids and Doveton soccer clubs have become bigger than the football clubs now
I wonder if more players will come across from Keysy now that they can pay players and whether that will entice players from other clubs that they may approach. Looking at the 2s results this year, they struggled a lot. Also wonder if a few of the retired players from a few seasons ago will come back
Can’t see them getting anymore from keys they had 15 or more cross over 2 years ago only about 8 of those played this year and none of them are young players if anything a couple more might retire and the ones that retired last year i can’t see coming back to play they have a connection with e/hils coach Peake who played at St. John’s and fair few e/hils players went there when they started the club from St. John’s but not sure were they will get players from as not many junior sides around there and they basically folded to a 3rds side and Edwards’s dragged half of keysy there 2 years ago but that well is dry i think money is there only option or a coach who can bring players again

They wont struggle
I watched St Johns play twice this year and they wouldn't beat hallam but they definitely would of been competitive and finished top 4.
If they genuinely want a flag in first year in div 4 they will get older guys back in for one year and if those guys think they a chance they will go around again

Fully understand the hype St. John's will get coming into a new league but what is the long term objective of the club beyond this?
They get old blokes in, win a D4 flag in 2026, all pull the pin ahead of the 2027 season, finish last & come back down to D4 in 2028?
It's a 5 year merry-go-round with clubs who think this is the way of future sustainability.
Will be interesting to see how Doveton Eagles, St. Johns, Dandenong West & Lyndale all go in the same division considering they're all within 8km's of each other.
Think this probably sums up the issues AFL has in the City of Greater Dandenong - credit to these 4 clubs for standing the test of time.

2 interesting games, obviously congrats to Hallam, I think if Tyler Neal was stopped Hallam potentially loose that game, but player of that quality is always gonna get off the chain in a ressies match. Also great to see lyndale loose, worst club in the league and going to get pumped next year. I actually think they could finish close to the bottom, rumours are a heap of guys have had enough and are gonna walk out.
I thought dandy west did well but obviously Hallam just played slightly better footy, there were a heap of good players from both sides I thought Jayden Nolan was a stand out for DW and they looked good but best side all year deserves the chocolates, and tbh all played their role which is what wins games.
As for St. John’s I strongly disagree with this chat, they have multiple league bnf winners, also, vafa div 2 is a good decent standard, I think their easily flag favorites off the bat.

They'd finish bottom of Div 4, they were barely competitive in one of the lower 3rd grades. Been talk of them coming back to senior football for sometime, they look a mile off it unfortunately.

Honestly think lyndale are better off, probably we’re paying them a bit, can off load guys that just aren’t gonna win you a flag and try and get some better players in, I think it’s a real bad move on Clayton’s end, especially with Jocs, dandy west and narre south all probably feeling like their a chance now.

I am 100% Lyndale person, simple scroll back tells you who I am. They were both leaving anyway. I know how much they’ve offered these guys, way better blokes for what Clayton need at Lyndale and they’ve maxed out their Lyndale transfers on these two.
Like I said they need to step down the bloke that’s taken them from 1 to 4 if they ever want to get anywhere again
