Moorabbin bring Lyndale back to reality. Hallam do the same to Doveton. DW in an upset for me and another tough day for SY. Great club with good people, just unfortunately hard to stay a float without a permanent base.

Some fairly even match ups next week, DW v Doveton and Lyndale v Hampton, with results hopefully starting to shape the top 4.

When are they getting their ground back?

Sadly, SY don’t think they’ll get use of the ground this year. To add to the salt in the wound, the ground is smaller then their previous size due to the fence and having to bring it in 3m, which make it smaller the Hamptons and more of a junior ground then anywhere near a senior size field.

It's crazy to think that we play a sport that doesn't have standardised rules about field size, even if it had to be close to a ballpark figure.

Imagine rocking up to play basketball on a court 1/3rd the length of the usual court, or a soccer pitch 25% wider and longer than your home ground.

I heard the ground was mostly paid for by the local private school and SY will be basically at their mercy with ground availability. School will have ultimate rights to kick em off any Saturday they need. Can anyone clarify this position?

This is neither here nor there, but soccer pitches don't have a set dimension, but rather a length and width requirement that each pitch needs to be within.

Do certainly agree there needs to be some sort of specification requirements for senior men's ovals.

We can certainly see now with ovals in the more newer housing estates around Melbourne, that ovals are of full size & there's 2 of them. Not much we can do about existing ovals within inner city suburbs

Maybe they just arnt that good.
As a club they must be doing something right to have 3 senior men’s teams and a women’s side on the park. This week will paint a better picture with a hit out against Hallam.

A couple of other close matches on the cards as well with SY possibly in for their first win and DW v Kangaroos could go down to the wire as well.

yeah, good on them for getting that many blokes down, but all the talent is in Hampton.
besides the game against Moorabbin no one has gotten within 10 goals of the Hammers, It's the Hammers year!
