South Africa v Australia in SA [5 ODIs 2023 (Sep 7-Sep 17)]

I can genuinely see, Tim David being last ODI for at least the next 5 years.

This was an experiment. Tim David also I dont think is that interested in Domestic 50 over cricket and given the amount of franchise cricket around the world , he may not even get the chance to prove himself.

Aussie selectors wont be buying the bait , that T20 performances should be a form guide to 50 over cricket.

SA are going to get a rude shock in the WC when they play a team that is not Australia
Even when they play Australia, this is our back up team.

Hope so, we aren't going anywhere if we don't beat SA.
Our bowling lineup is much stronger and Smith for Inglis and Maxwell for David are no brainers.

Missing Maxwell, Smith, Cummins, Starcke

All 4 are back against India. That's more than a 3rd of the lineup.

Think Short will be a decent addition
I like Short as a selection.
It doesn't look a strong side to me.

We'll get a better idea against India I guess.

This will be 3 100 run losses on the trot.
Would love to know MM's thinking on opting to chase again.

At least he won't be captain during the WC.
