SA are going to get a rude shock in the WC when they play a team that is not Australia
Smith, Starc, Maxwell, Cummins all back.Is Steve Smith coming into the team?
I think we need him.
But couldn't beat West Indies, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or Ireland. While I would expect history to ensure they don’t win it, they have beaten England and India in bi-lateral series over the last year and a half as well.

Green to open and Marsh to stay at three the other option.Well that wasn't fun
Really really struggling chasing a total
I thought we bowled okay apart form the last two overs which was crap
Fielding is crap greenie the only one who can take a decent catch...and he consistently has dropped catches of his own bowling.
Batting and the middle order a huge issue. Playing two keepers in the same team in the middle order is just not working both are struggling to scores runs consistently. Play one and put them back in the traditional batting position for a keeper and that is number seven.
David the experiment has not worked...looks a terrible cricketer in the field and with the bat...t20 specialist only
Greenie needs more time in the middle shame he missed 3 games...3 games in India will do him good
I can't see us winning the world cup from here too many issues with the batting and too many players out of form or injured.
Think we need to go back to basics and play a bit more traditionaly....and i think Head will be out
Warner
Marsh
Smith
labs
Green
Maxwell
Carey
Starc
Cummins/Agar
Zampa
Hazelwood
Thats the team I would go for...if short comes in to open marsh to three and .....labs out
Yeah green to open and marsh three could work. Marsh needs to bat in the top threeGreen to open and Marsh to stay at three the other option.
I wouldn't be bringing in Short in, there's often a gulf between international and domestic cricket, as well as T20 and ODI, to the point I wouldn't make such a drastic change on the eve of the biggest tournament.
Don't think we play can all 3 quicks.Well that wasn't fun

Yeah its not looking good tuggs...we do have good form in india with the white ball games so hope that continues.Don't think we play can all 3 quicks.
Agar should play, probably at the expense of Hazlewood but I'd prefer Cummins.
Have a look at that battling line up after Labs.
Green out of form.
Maxxy has missed heaps of ricket.
Carey not in great nick. I know he got a 99.
That side will be lucky to make the semi finals IMO.
We were trying a new aggressive style I'm willing to take the Ls as they learn it. Our batting line up is brittle though. Can't rely on a middle order batter to complete the job or steady the ship.Pretty epic choke from 2-0 up.
A bit of thinking cap required.
My understanding is Zampa and Stoinis will retire from ODI cricket after the World Cup and T20I cricket after the 2024 World Cup. A long with a whole heap of players who will all join the franchise circuit.Great start to tour, shocking end.
Warner and Marnus enhanced their reputations.
I was impressed with Tanveer and Abbott at various stages.
Surely we are near the end of the road with Stoinis and A Zampa?
Stoinis opening the bowling didn't look right - Stoinis could have anything as a player....let's hope he has a huge world cup with the bat.
Hazlewood had a shocker and confirms to me that his time as an international player is all but done.
Ellis - a huge hearted cricketer but just lacks some class in the ODI level - T20 probably suits him more.
Zampa. Play him in the world cup and then player Tanveer - he is the future.
Sean Abbott impressed me. He'd be a very capable third seamer in most international sides.
All in all - hard to know where we sit....time will tell.
It seemed Stoinis was used to open the bowling so Abbott could come in first change, which is what he might do in a full strength side as opposed to opening the bowling. Think I saw comments form Marsh that said as much.Great start to tour, shocking end.
