While he remains top 10 in disposals, tackles and #1 for I50 he's not getting dropped.
Ha! I'm sure I could... It's just that I can't really be arsed tracking down a programme capable of doing this, paying for said programme, figuring out how it works etc. 20 minutes on a Sunday night spent looking at footy stats is actually kinda appealing... I'm a sad, sad individual, I know.I'm confident you could handle that level of tech![]()
It would be interesting to see a complete breakdown of other teams scoring habits - particularly for the top sides... I don't have the time to do it properly sorry, but having a quick look at other games in the paper I have in front of me suggests that it's the scores from turnovers which form the bulk of winning teams scores. Not giving it up in dangerous positions coupled with punishing opponents mistakes will mean a win more often than not I'd think.Looking at the stats provided by Miss Vanessa, we've had exactly the same number of scoring shots as our opposition when scoring from kick ins (6 vs 6) & clearances (33 vs 33). We've had 8 more scoring shots from turnovers (55 vs 47).
What is notable is that we've been comprehensively outscored from clearances in 2 of the 3 games (North & Richmond) and our accuracy when scoring from centre clearances is very poor compared to the opposition. When it comes to clearance scores we've scored 17.16 (51.5%) to 20.13 (60.6%). This tells me that our defensive pressure is poor when the opposition win the clearance, and our defenders are often caught out. It also tells me that we're not getting a good return on our centre clearances, due to our habit of bombing it blindly directly to the opposition's "spare man in defence".
That said, I'm not sure that 3 games is enough to draw statistically meaningful conclusions.

He'll be the first whipping boy up on the block though if his numbers turn to shit. While he remains top 10 in disposals, tackles and #1 for I50 he's not getting dropped.

To DMac's credit, he is one of our tougher tacklers. He'll be the first whipping boy up on the block though if his numbers turn to shit.
Is there a Ragdolled stat?
Nah, full credit to DMac...he's sticking it right up his detractors of which I am one.
Not all of us are programmer smart though...My scanning software does it automagically, perhaps yours can too?

I was a critic last year and I think he fully deserved to be dropped from the side. However, this year he has been a very good contributor and despite continued calls for him to be dropped, I just don't see how you can given his current form and output... Though his use of the ball this year hasn't been as good as in the past... I think that's pretty much the only knock on him this year.

He's slowly learning when to leave his man to affect other contests as third man in. It's great to watch.Jenkins game probably a bit underrated on weekend - had plenty hits to advantage and 10 score involvements
And shook Kieran Jack off pretty easily
Hartigan's intercept and intercept mark stats are bl00dy impressive
Sign that he's growing in confidence - hence the better decision making and kicking that follows
Don't like the Rat being so low on score involvements. It's like his clever work mucks us up downfield or something?? Or just til the last game he didn't have enough ball period?

Can someone confirm a score involvement occurs for anyone involved in a passage of play where you're team retains possession the whole time and then your team scores?
A player is credited with a score involvement for being involved in a chain of possession that leads to a score. This can include disposals, hit-outs to advantage, kick-ins or knock ons. If a player has two disposals in the same scoring chain, he is only credited with one score involvement.
I believe that's the case. Anyone involved in the chain of play, from the first person who takes possession of the ball (after the opposition's last possession). Can someone confirm a score involvement occurs for anyone involved in a passage of play where you're team retains possession the whole time and then your team scores?
That's my understanding.
e.g. a kick in from full back through multiple sets of hands that goes end to end and results in a goal is a score involvement for everyone in the team who had a possession in that chain of play?
