Okay, now theres a few doubters that Steele belongs in our best 22 and I also made this clip for Invigoration. Any feedback would be loved, hope I've done rusty justice with this clip.

Great Video Mate:thumbsu:

:heart::heart:Muse:heart::heart:
That was awesome, loved how it built up from the start and had all the boys patting him on the back and stuff.
Great song as well, the whole thing got me pumped.

Anyone who was doubting this kid, watch that clip and try remembering that was his 9th AFL game and probably one of the most intense we have played in for the last few years. Great little finishing touch on the clip too Muse, great work :thumbsu:

His ability to kick on both feet is such a massive asset, he will turn opponents inside out a lot because you genuinely don't know which way he is going to go.

He reminds me of Bartel a bit.

Yeah I was going to name names at the end, even saved the quotes but thought dswan and daics might get stuff thrown at them next game they attend :p

On the Bartel topic I agree 110%, he isn't the most polished performer but that should come with age. I see alot of Bartel in him actually, which is very scary to say when it's about a second year player. It feels great to know even after the likes of O'Bree, Tarkyn, Neon, Dids and maybe even Ball are gone from our midfield we have Swan, Pendles & Daisy aswell as a flurry of fantastic young players in Beamsy, Rusty, Macaff & Dick really begenning to stamp their mark in contention for the 22. Obviously Caff & Dick are going to be suited great for the forward line but I can see them having bursts through the midfield too.

Sorry about the massive essay just than, but I really am excited. :D

The biggest thing I notice in that clip is how good his lateral movement is. He has a great side step which gets him out of tackles. He may not be lightening quick but he still seems to be able to create space by shrugging or sidestepping tackles and being able to go onto his left or right in whatever circumstance.

Agree and Also knows where people are on the Field - Bit like how Pendles does it

I can't believe there are doubters on this kids ability. Watch the Adelaide Semi Final and tell me he's not a future star. He must stay in our 22.

Rustys amazing, i know its an early call but i do think he will be our best player in 5 years time, i love how he side steps and dummys oppostion players, its going to be exciting times with steele, and mate that was an awesome clip , well done mate:thumbsu: keep em coming:D

I said a while back that I saw a little Daicos in him.
Might be a big call I know, but Daicos was not super quick either and his lateral movement helped him easily evade opponents.
Obviously has a long way to go to compare him to Daicos, but this kid is going to be great. :thumbsu:

some of those handballs i would like to see him kick a bit more.
Good vid, who would u want Beams or Sidebottom??

Tough choice, very very tough choice. Lucky we have both :p

If I had to choose it would be tight but I'd say Rusty.. Beams is an absolute work horse and will be one of our best midfielders this decade, but I can't help but get excited whenever Rusty's near the ball, he just has that vibe that he could become an elite midfielder in the years to come.

That lateral movement was something Johnson had that allowed him to run through the midfield a few years back. Very hand ability, to be a crab-boy.

Great work Muse.:thumbsu:

I'm convinced the kids got it.
The poise and confidence he showed in that final was outstanding for a seasoned performer let alone a first year player and a young one at that.

Others may judge him as a man right now, which seems ridiculous, but he has the attributes of a great player.
He's in the 22 now and with another couple of pre-seasons and years under his belt he'll be one of our best.

maybe ever.

Sorry, but I don't see one elite attribute he's got, other than perhaps mental attributes, such as poise and footy brain. Technical and physical though, I'm still not seeing it, as hard as I try. Players like Didak and Buckley, even in their initial few games, you could see they had absolutely elite disposal. Sidebottom has neat disposal from both feet. Maybe I'm setting the bar too high, I don't know.

As much as I try, I just can't see elite there, no matter how much people use the fact he's only had one season under his belt. Dayne Beams has also only had one season under his belt, though I can potentially see elite down the line there, but not for Sidebottom.

I tend to agree with Dundalis. I don't see the elite attributes.

That said, he'll be a very good long-term player. Somewhere between Lockyer and Sam Mitchell, although closer to the former.

You don't see him having a "poise' or an inherent willingness to take the game on and not be rushed into a decision?

I'm not talking about his skills, I'm impressed by his temperament under pressure and his self confidence.

Yep. You get a great sense he's 'in' the game, which is what you want. There's a flow and a grace which seems hard to extract from other players.

If he's not the quickest/sharpest/etc. then meh. But he's certainly a footballer by nature which is most important.
