OK some clear facts on this case

• Baker was the only player near farmer
• He broke his nose and split his lip right open
• He was severely concussed and probably wont play this week
• Baker Haas history of playing outside the rules

How in the hell can any person here claim oh well there no video so there should be no charge

Murderers are convicted without bodies being found, there was heaps of physical evidence to suggest baker whacked Farmer....whatever the penalty is (A rumor sweeping the net a few minutes ago was 7 weeks...can anyone confirm this??)

Baker is a dirty player...I think people have to put aside thier dislike for Farmer who also is a thug too....but in this instance hes the victim not offender...that has to be remembered

I hope St Kilda appeal this, not because I care about Baker in any way but it does set a highly suspect precedent as far as the issue of evidence goes.

The only good thing that might come out of this is that it forces Baker to completely rethink his entire attitude towards playing football. It's clear the tribunal has had a gut-full of him.

If all the evidence was given and Baker got a fair hearing, then seven is a fair penalty for an off the ball incident which left a bloke concussed.

But, for a minute - think about this and give an honest assessment of your feelings.

If a player from your club was charged with rough play where the only witness was a trainer from the other club - what would your reaction be ?

I can't believe all the surprise at this. The NRL absolutely smash their players at the tribunal for thug acts and here we are with a behind the play incident in which a players face has been smashed in and everyone is squealing.

Im delighted the AFL is finally coming down hard on these incidents. The game needs some real discipline and sense of fair play. The half time melees must also be wiped out for the sake of the kids watching the game.

I dunno, we don't have a Steven Baker type player in our club. We have Mooney, but he tends to take out players when the ball is near, not at random times.

Baker is a dirty pig. He's whacked another player behind play. He got seven weeks which is about the right penalty for a bloke that has always been more concerned with playing the man instead of the ball.

Idiots like Baker are the reason why some parents want to stop their children playing football. He is a disgrace and copped what he had coming to him. Dirty, sniping thug.

Well i can see why the took the chance and gave him the penalty then.
