Re: Survivor Tocantins (Cast revealed)

This just seems like its going to be a great series, some great characters, good setting. Sandy is a dead ringer of the cat lady off The Simpsons =D. Some nice chicks as well, ^_^

The suprise at the beginning of the show was a deadset cracker, infact the two surprises =D.

Re: Survivor Tocantins (Cast revealed)

This season looks fantastic already.

They dropped the ball with Gabon, but the cast and location looks much better this season. Fewer dumb people, a good mix of athleticism and age, and a couple of nutters for good measure.

Sandy deserved to stay as she looked strong in the challenge, but man she is one dumb lady. Fancy not knowing what a pace is when reading immunity idol instructions.

Hope the Alabama cattle rancher goes a long way, but got a feeling that without a strong alliance his social skill will cost him at some stage.

The basketball / rugby challenge shown in the highlights for next week's show looks great. Love the challenges that involve the teams fighting, mud wrestling and ripping each other's clothes off.

I reckon JT will at least make the merge as he seems to be the leader of the tribe, a likeable guy, and their strongest member so they are unlikely to vote him out early.

I expect that we will be shown the alliances form on both tribes in the next episode as apart from Coach approaching Brendan we weren't really shown any alliances during the 1st episode.

Re: Survivor Tocantins (Cast revealed)

Saddest part about Caroline leaving is that her norks spent no where near enough time on my screen. ;)

Timbira look the strongest for sure although Jalepao did a decent job in a challenge until the maze debacle.

**** Sandy is a simpleton and lol at the cat lady similarity. Spot on. :thumbsu:

She had quite possibly one of the most annoying voices I have ever heard. Total switch off, regardless of her chest. Sydney, Erin and Sierra are all better.

New ep should be available tomorrow afternoon sometime, though I wont be able to watch until Saturday Morning, but Ill be a tad tipsy then :p

Re: Survivor Tocantins (Cast revealed)

A few interesting twists in the second episode, we saw exile 'island' for the first time, which has an extra little spice added to it this season. Also I found it interesting that there is only one challenge per episode now. That could change when the tribes merge though. This is shaping up to be a really good season, as good as FvF though? That season will be hard to beat

Candace
gets eliminated at tribal council.

Another great episode and this season looks like it's gonna be full of great moments.

Exile Island is a lot more interesting this season with the 2 people and the option to mutiny. I wonder if anyone will actually switch tribes when given the opportunity. After last night's episode, I wouldn't be surprised if Erinn mutinies to Jalapao in the next few episodes.

Great physical challenge in this episode and was surprised at the winner. I think it's only 1 challenge per episode for the first few episodes only. Next episode or the one after I think will revert back to 2 challenges.

Coach, Tyson, Sierra and Brendan all seem to be great characters this season and hopefully they will go far.

Next episode looks interesting. I think that Taj is talking to Brendan again on Exile Island and making a cross-tribal alliance of four. I'm guessing Taj, Brendan, Sierra and one other, perhaps Sandy as she is the only other one in Jalapao not close to anyone else.

If they all make the merge, that will make for some interesting cross-tribal strategy.

Re: Survivor Tocantins (Cast revealed)

Can mods please put a spoiler warning in the thread title.

Pissed that Candace got voted out. She was intelligent, sassy, athletic, competitive and determined... also had an absolutely smoking body. Unfortunately she got overconfident and paid the price, but should have gone much further.

I hate Coach already. This is the sort of person I tend to despise in real life and never spend any time around. The type of bloke who is a supposed expert on everything, always offers a critical opinion, talks a big game, but rarely delivers.

Dissapointed to see Jerry go, seemed like a good guy.

Just by quick glance, Timbira should be smashing Jalapao, but they seem very confused atm, I would say tribe politics are playing a role in this. Weren't definitive in the challenges at all and it cost them big time. Coach's coaching tactics don't seem to be working too well at all, I don't think ive seen a guy more egomanic than him! To give him credit though, he is the most interesting character this season, and if he goes far, it will be intriguing indeed.

A quick idea for season 20:

Survivor 20: Heroes vs Villains -

Heroes:
Tom - Palau
Todd - China
Erik - Micronesia
Matty - Gabon
JT – Tocantins
Michelle - Fiji
Peih-Gee - China
Sugar - Gabon
Sierra - Tocantins
Taj - Tocantins

Villains:
Jean Robert – China/Judd - Guatemala
Kenny - Gabon
Randy - Gabon
Coach – Tocantins
Tyson - Tocantins
Courtney - China
Natalie - Micronesia
Corrine - Gabon
Erinn?/Season 19 Female
Season 19 Female

I think there has been so many big personalities, particularly villains, in recent seasons that it would be justified to have another All-Stars in season 20, especially considering there were only 10 All-Stars in Fans vs Favourites. I would love to see all of these people back in the game.

I didn't really want to see Sandy go, good character to have on the show, even if she does speak a lot of gibberish. But at the end of the day, the guys were never going to vote out the lovely Sydney.

The secret alliance forming could make the game very interesting towards the end, but it could oh so easily fall apart too. Coach may have a say in that too.

Better episode this week with quite a few things suprising me. Spencer for one. Taj's outburst too. And the both tribe alliance is showing signs of cracking before it comes into play. Can't believe that JT lost a good portion of a tooth too, could of been painful if the root was exposed. He did great guns in the challenge, I really felt sorry for him when Jalapao lost because the rest of his team were useless. He is one of my Favourite players too, hope he goes far.

And Erinn, really like her too. Especially regarding Coach, she can see right through his antics!

Bad news though, no new ep for 3 weeks  Skip completely next week, the following week is a lame recap ep which Im not sure whether to waste my time with. Why there is a recap this early in a season, and why there is a random gap week, I don't know. Why not put the recap on next week?

I think the gap week is related to the American TV season. Something to do with a non-ratings period over Easter, I think.

God damn Coach is insane. He's hilariously deluded. I'm loving the cross-tribal alliance and I hope it succeeds. I get the feeling Steven might be hedging his bets with both JT and Taj.

But Easter Weekend doesn't start until 10th April, a week after it is supposed to return to new eps hmm  So it could go something like this break ,recap ,new ep new ep, break, break. Woot...

The reason for the 2 week break is that CBS are showing the NCAA basketball tourney for the next few weeks. I love my bball but i still wish it didn't interfere with Survivor.

I was also surprised that Spencer was voted out. He must've been reeeeally bad in the immunity challenge. Hard to tell how the series is going to play out with the strongest alliance being between members of opposite tribes. Will be interesting to see if they stick together (Stephen doesn't seem so keen, maybe wanting to take JT with him). Tyson's suspicions of the alliance may also play a big part but they may not have a chance to vote Brendan off before the merge which will probably be after the next episode.

Still annoys me though that there is a recap episode after only 6 weeks. I mean surely Survivor fans don't have that short a memory, do we? ^_^

Yeah hopefully it'll mean they don't have another one later in the season. Once it gets past the merge I find it even more annoying having to wait an extra week for the next proper episode.

Yes, if they have another recap episode, I won't be too happy. In saying that, the two weeks off means that I may not be capped this month, at least thats something...

The merge next episode will be really interesting.

Once again we have two idols in play, looks like someone will be humiliated again by playing a fake idol, and we have the potential of a secret cross tribe alliance that could really shake things up at the end (assuming they all make it).

Been a while since someone has had the social awareness to play a legimate idol and save themselves. Think it was Yaoman in China. People being blindsided whilst having an idol (or two!) has happened too much in recent seasons, hopefully a lesson has been learned.

A 6-4 advantage should be strong but I think that Erinn will flip, purely at the prospect of voting out Coach if nothing else. Man I cannot stand that know it all w***er.

Looking forward to the end of this season.

Coach may well be the biggest tool living on the planet. Still I want him to stay because he is so hilariously deluded!

The Idol these days is a poison barb, nothing more. Still I like it the way it is now, anyone who has the social conscience will get its full use. Wasn't the real idol used in FvF a couple of seasons ago? I remember there was a fake idol used as well. That is always hysterical.

The two people I would most like to win are Erin and JT.

Since they changed the rules of the hidden immunity idol we've had:

Fiji:
Edgardo voted off when his ally Alex used the idol thinking that he was the 1 being targeted
Yau-Man made fake idol
Yau-Man used a real idol to save himself after he and Earl had 1 each

China:
Jaime used a fake idol
James voted off with 2 idols

Micronesia:
Jason found Ozzy's fake idol which he gave to Eliza to use
Ozzy voted off with an idol in his possession
Jason voted off with an idol in his possession
Amanda used the idol to save herself

Gabon:
Randy given fake idol by Bob and voted off
Kenny tricked by Bob's second fake idol into allying with him and Corrinne
Sugar kept the idol the whole game until giving it to Matty at the end

Tocantins:
Exile Allies Brendan and Taj find the 2 idols
Joe finds Taj's fake idol

So only Yau-Man, Amanda and Sugar have used it to their advantage (although Sugar didn't really end up using it).

Onto the episode, it seemed to set up a very intriguing merge situation. Timbira have the majority, but the looming danger of Brendan and Sierra moving over to the Exile Alliance, or even Erinn teaming up with Joe, makes things very interesting and unpredictable. Hard to tell what's going to happen.

Great merge episode, apart from the fact that they didn't end up going to tribal council. The episode was dominated by Coach, Tyson, JT and Stephen, with Brendan being the new target. It would've been really interesting to see what would've happened at tribal council had it happened, however I wasn't unhappy to see Joe go as he was only a minor player in the game.

Tyson is hilarious and definitely my favourite player in the series. Gotta love his dry, sarcastic wit.

Next week - Coach vs Brendan - looks very interesting. I'm a bit concerned that Brendan will convince the exile alliance (including Stephen and JT) that Tyson is more of a threat then Coach and they will vote him out instead. However, I'm hoping that somehow Tyson and Coach manage to completely sway JT and Stephen over to their new alliance. Will be a great episode.

This is why I felt he was a chance if he hadn't infected his leg. In the background, but reared his head just enough to make sound decisions. Unfortunate for him.

Im really liking some of the characters this season, Erinn, JT and Tyson in particular. Has there ever been a bigger, more pretentious tool than Coach? And the guy gets about 2/3 of the air time. Might as well rename the show to give the viewers an idea of this ^_^

Also LOL at Coach refering to himself as Dragonslayer. As someone said on an American forum, " I can't believe there is a living Adult on this earth that refers to himself as Dragonslayer" :D

I really liked the merge ep. I'm loving Stephen more and more as a potential winner. He manages to develop legitimate relationships that in turn lead to him being included in alliances. He's very smart and seems to be approaching the game the right way; balancing his social game with his strategic one. After all, you need to get to the FTC with people respecting you and liking you after having been essentially voted out by you.

I'm starting to think that he might be better off going with Tyson, Coach, JT etc. Coach and JT would respond to an honour and honesty approch and Tyson is canny enough to know a good player when he sees one.

Oh yeah, I also think Tyson is a crack-up. I read on the TV Without Pity forum that a lot of people think he's weird, but I just think they don't get his sarcastic sense of humour.
