I think its even deeper than that.. I dont think they understand how we're winning, and therefore cant describe or analyse it.. They love drawing little circles around players and arrows where they run to find space etc.. but the Swans attack and defence is a bit more complex than a gun mid kicking to a gun tall forward, or a gun defender positioning himself perfectly to intercept.
I honestly dont think King or Montagna know how the Swans keep winning

Today was an ass licking little piece stating some very obvious and 'in your face' stats (probably as a result of the criticism the Swans fans are giving the media). There was no insight or anything

Ps.. the amount of times Ive read or heard the media acknowledge the disscontempt of Swans fans due the lack of media coverage is huge!
Good on you Swans fans
King and Montagna did a great summary 1st off on First Crack of the statistical dominance of the Swannies…..but that was it, no game or player analysis the rest of the show.

King also said other coaches have to wale up and tag at least two of the ‘Big Three’…..
but then acknowledged Mills is due back so that might not work either!

Yeah they seem to essentially work back through the weekend.
First Crack is def one of the better footy shows, gives all the games pretty much equal coverage, actually uses data and analysis to support their insights, and aren't afraid to have a crack at a big idea (which admittedly can sometimes blow back in their face). And it's over in an hour.

Tagging is an interesting debate right now. Somehow, the Swans have found one of the best in Jordon. Essendon are using Guelfi but he looks to be limited to tagging half-backs whereas Jordon has shown he can do midfield tagging (Walsh) as well. Hawthorn have Finn Maginness. Apart from that, I can't readily think of other taggers. Perhaps there are others but my point is that it is a specialist job. It would be hard to find two players who can do it well against both Heeney and Warner. Especially when the hardest players to tag are those that can go forward and take a mark inside 50. Both Heeney and Warner can do that.

Not sure if this should be here or in general discussion but as it refers to the talk of Heeney and Warner being tagged from First Crack I'll put it here.

Contract extensions that anyone around the club saw coming tbh

I’m confused.

I thought Snell (as a 2023 draftee) was already contracted til 2025 as part of the std 2 year national draft contract.

So wouldn’t a 2yr extension be 2027?

It must just be a 1yr extension, although the wording of the article could be interpreted as 2yrs.

Just clumsy writing.

Pridham talks about:
1) Longmire can make the call on stay/go
2) Club continue to increase its engagement with Indigenous community
3) Best of 3 GFs
"I'm yet to hear a good reason why you wouldn't have a best of three Grand Final series," he said. "Maybe if we played a Grand Final in Sydney , we could buy some of the Melbourne clubs business seats to fly up. I would make sure they have 13 Business Class seats." 🤣 🤣

Chad's contract talks On Hold - X posted to Player thread please take your talk there for this one
Love the best of 3 GF idea.
Play 1 and 2 at the clubs home grounds and rotate the third around the country.

How does that work if a team wins the first two? Have a dead rubber third? Scrap a game at a week's notice?

I can see it now - Umpire to winning centreman who’s been celebrating all week - “Wake up! It’s your kick! “
