A train to Central and a bus from Central is the typical way to get to the SCG.

Or you could walk from Central - takes up to half an hour and uphill for some of the way - if you need the exercise.

I'm going as well:D I'm hoping it will be a good game and not a crappy tempo footy type game

I seem to have this memory of the Swans and Crows managing to play the most boring games ever against each other at the SCG. Can't see where our winners are going to come from, I just hope we put in a 4 quarter effort otherwise you guys will have us on toast.

I'm taking my winnings from Adelaide ahead at each quarter this week and putting it straight back on to be ahead at each quarter this week.

I was just thinkingof matchups for our backline

Bassett-Davis or O'Loughlin
Rutten-Hall(obviously)
Macca or Johncock-Schneider

What do you guys think?

My knowledge of some Swans players is vague, but here's a shot..

Rutten - Hall
Basset - Goodes
Stevens - O'Loughlin
Johncock - Davis
McLeod - Fosdike
Torney - O'Keefe

Goodes is the one I'm worried about to be honest - he's a hard man to match up on. He's been in great form this year and was brilliant when we played them at AAMI last year - EASILY BoG in a losing side. We really don't have a player that is a good match for him. He's a bit like Burton in that respect - a bloke that nobody seems to have a perfect match for. Maybe we should put Burton on him :D

We have a decent record at the SCG, and the swans weren't convincing against Freo - we'd go in as favourites no doubt, but I am a bit worried this week.

I SERIOUSLY considered putting Burton on Goodes for this reason :D

But I doubt Burton would tag him well

Mattner will get someone too - he could play on Goodes (as has the height), but more likely to get someone like O'Keefe.

Was it last year or the year before when Crows and Swans played the most deadly game ever seen? It was a rolling maul from start to finish. A massive wrestling match masquerading as football.
I almost switched to rugby union permanently after that game.
Think this will be different. Crows movement of the ball is irresistible and I expect they'll be able to get going even if Roos does decide to try to choke the midfield with bodies on that narrow ground. It will be interesting to watch the coaching.

That was during our dreaful 2004 season.

Just looking back at the scores...

It was Craig's first loss after his two honeymoon debut wins.

A lacklustre spectacle in the slop. And our only loss to the Swans in the last five years.

We followed that up with our only loss at home to Fremantle ever. Then that shellacking at the Gabba.

After that there was that hideously skillless (for both sides) game against the Roos. Somehow we won 5.19 to 5.12. And unlike the Swans game there wasn't even poor weather to blame.

Pretty ordinary period to be an Adelaide fan. How did we turn it around so fast?

Last year our two teams played off for the top two spot in 2005 over at AAMI and it was one of the most disappointing games in recent years.

It wasn't the result which was disappointing so much as it was the manner in which the two teams decided to play considering that they were both supposed to be flying high at that point of the year.

Swans led 28 pts to 20 pts at half time. :thumbsd:

This year both sides have truly opened up, and the Crows in particular are playing a much better brand of footy. Should be a corker. Fingers crossed.

That was my only live AFL game that year.

You guys are the real deal.
Fantastic to watch... football is an artform for The Crows.
Hope you go all the way this year! :thumbsu:

Thats the game you guys congested the clearences and played around the boundary and with 8 defenders,mm remember it well.
We broke your strangle hold on the fluency of the game in about a 7 minute burst in the 3rd quarter which was a match winning 7 minutes.
