I'm just throwing this out there so please don't flame me members of the Purple Horde.... I remember this being briefly discussed earlier in the season and I thought it was worthy of us having a chat about it. Tarrant has all the skills to be a superb CHB. What do you guys think of that for next year. We could alternate Tarrant/McPharlin to mess with teams set ups?

Might be worth a look at. Tarrant's never played that sort of role as far as I know so it may take him time to learn it.
We all know he has the talent to be something special in our team structure but is making him learn something completely new this far into his career going to throw him off?

As the saying goes, you can't teach an old dog new tricks

i always thought taz should have a go on the wing... he has good pace and would be good at taking grabs out on the wing for you

the only problems are his kicking, which will always be a problem in his career

and does he have the tank to run out a whole game on the wing?

i dont think he would have the toughness to play as a chb though to be honest

The funny thing is when Tarrant is up the ground his kicking is perfect, play him off the wing and watch him gather the ball and deliver it into ther forwards. It's when he lines up for a set shot the yips take over.

That's why goal kicking accuracy is 90% mental, and they teach players to kick at something behind the goals rather than think about the posts. I mean if you got somebody to stand 50m away from you at training and you kicked to them, 95% of the time the ball would come within a metre either side of them. You would think that after playing a reasonable amount of games in could be nerves? I don't think I have ever seen a forward so keen to pass the ball off rather than take a set shot.

How does he go goal kicking in warm up? I never get to the game untill just on bounce down.

tarrants been spending too much time with biomechanists

his goal kicking style is an absolute joke. let him run in on an angle if it makes him more comfortable

I never used to look at the goals from a set shot, Id line myself up at the start allowing for wind etc, then my focus was on placing that ball on my boot correctly. Mind you I wasn't kicking from fifty out and may explain returns of 3 goals 30 points in a season and such like.:D
