  • Steele and Daisy Backed up with Fantastic Game
  • Dawes was Good
  • Ball Sticking it up the Saints Backside
  • N Brown destroyed Roo
  • Players Hugging Derick Hine:thumbsu:

Cons:

  • Umpiring was Terrible
  • Toovey was the Human Turnover Machine

Let's see if Chris Tarrant will come back to collingwood?

great pros dave, and what a relief!!!!!!!!!

Thought Luke Ball showed all his class today.

Both during the game, and then after, when interviewed.

Despite the euphoria, he was full of compassion for his ex teammates.

GO COLLINGWOOD! :thumbsu: YEEEAAHHHHH!

We had 22 excellent players on the field today who all gave their best and all and were epic! Feel sorry for Dick, Davis, Lockyer and Presti who are all f**king stars and all deserve to be in the team! Awesome leadership by Maxwell and excellent coach in Malthouse! Toovey wasn't a con he was pretty damn good, he did have a few stumbles but he was vital in our win!

AND NO TARRANT! NO! He cant fit in our best 22 and he would hate to be a 'depth' player in the VFL. No room in defence because N. Brown needs to keep that spot because he did an excellent job on Reiwodllttttyyyy last week and this week. Luke Bally is all class and is definitely a great player! Awesome work Pendles on winning the Norm Smith! Loved Steeles game today as-well but everyone played so well today no-one was crap or bad or anything other then AWESOME!

I WISH I WAS IN MELBOURNE NOW! PARTY ON IN MELBOURNE FOR ME! GOOOO THE GOOD OLD AWESOME MAGPIES! WELL DESERVED! :D :D :D :D :D :D :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Re: TF Premership/Trade Week

Re: TF Premership/Trade Week

Dave, I spoke to a Collingwood fan at the game and he was from Brisbane and he told me Fev to Collingwood is a done deal as of yesterday and he said it was from a very reliable source. Had to tell you Dave so you can look forward to and plan for Tradeweek.

Re: TF Premership/Trade Week

I'm very firm in my belief that Fevola is a wrecker.

Please Eddie, don't take him.
If you really had so much money under the cap, take Jonathan Brown.
Never ever take Chris Tarrant back... .

Derek Hine is a genius. Someone should give him a replica premiership medal cos he deserves one.

I think your mates having you on Daics. Or maybe his reliable source is having him on. Just can't see that happening.

Re: TF Premership/Trade Week

Let's see if Chris Tarrant will come back to collingwood?

I'm not a Chris Tarrant hater and really loved him at Collingwood and really respect him as a player. Not turned off by his past at all, but I don't feel his body will continue to hold up the way it has in seasons gone past and I don't think he will maintain his form either. So he doesn't represent great value.

The fact that he does fit into our salary cap as a vet is attractive, but at the same time I don't feel that it is necessary either. And also a logic fit as a potential upgrade because our premiership window is open.

But Nathan Brown after those 2 efforts against Nick Riewoldt.

Are you serious? Was in our top 5 in both games for mine. Beat Riewoldt in both games! Both grand finals! Why would you want to replace him?

He can hold down the position for the next 7-8 years.

Pretty disrespectful after these efforts to say to Brown "sorry mate. we don't have confidence in your abilities to hold down a key position post so we have bought back an old favourite."

I'd be disappointed to see us target Tarrant frankly. He is a 1-2 year rental who we don't need. I'm happy to continue building our list for the long run and possibly adding a few pieces to go with our current side. So maybe adding a forward flanker who can fit our structures and possibly a crumbing forward to compliment our big forwards, but otherwise we are pretty well set.

Down back we have: Reid + Brown
Depth: Anthony

Also for those who are going to suggest add ruck depth through the draft, I strongly disagree.

Jolly hasn't missed a game since 2005. Very durable and likely to hold up another 3-4 seasons and still perform at a high level.

Wood is a strong backup who while his performances were poor this season, as the no.1 ruckman I'm confident he is sufficient depth. If Jolly goes down he is more than good enough to cover.

I'd add a combo KPF/Ruckman + a pure no.1 ruckman through the draft to have developing for when Jolly+L.Brown are both done. L.Brown won't last 3 years you can't expect, but I'm pretty confident next season he will still be good, if not then Cameron Wood I think while not suited to the no.2 role, I think he is more than good enough to play that role if necessary.

Not all that fussed if we retain/ trade Fraser. Clears salary cap space if he leaves, but if he stays he is still very good depth as a no.1/2 ruckman and still has another 2-3 years I expect.

I'd look to stay inactive this trade week and plan to just build through the draft. Very happy with our list as is and still confident that some more of those young players can come through next year (Dick, Goldsack, J.Anthony, C.Wood and J.Thomas among others).

If Fraser asks for more opportunity then we can look at options and perhaps we can do a pick upgrade, but otherwise I would take the conservative option and stay inactive and just focus on the draft.

Fev's contract would have to be renegotiated to fit in our salary cap.

Also structurally he isn't a great fit. Commands the ball far too much and takes away from the even goal kicking spread which within our system works well.

Dawes is fine and will continue to get better.

Yeah I'd take that

seems like a win win scenario to me.

JA will get far more opportunities at the swans and will help your forwardline

Pies get a couple of talented youngsters, who i rate pretty highly. It really doesnt look like currie is going to get a look in at all now which is a shame and Pat just doesnt seem to have gotten the opportunities up at the swans which may change with a new coach and all but yeah, it seems fair.

I thought Tooves did a solid job (and was brilliant last week), must have been watching the game with my Toovey-goggles on...

My shopping list:

Back-up ruck - Don't think we can put our faith in Leigh Brown, we have seen players like Davis and Meddy fail to replicate career best seasons.

A crumbing player - Hopefully Dick can step up next year but depth is never a bad thing.

Most importantly, we need a former AA forward who is athletic, led the league in marks in 03 and won at least 1 MOTY who can play both forward and back. :p

May as well pull our own pants down if we are doing this kind of deal.

Jack on his own is worth more than Veszpremi. Also, Currie is not worth a 2nd rounder.

understand that our second rounder is in the 40's which is basically a 3rd rounder of any other year. Also allows us potentially to lose Fraser, Have cam wood as our second ruck and currie as our third.

And sure, Jack is worth more than Pat, but theyre different players also. Jack has failed to improve on last season and hasnt been able to make the best 22...to be quite honest its difficult to see who he'll push out at this point in time.

Veszpremi as a medium half forward who can move through the middle as well could be very handy. He's certainly got a lot of talent and given the right opportunity could be a good pickup.

The key thing here is if JA wants to leave to get more opportunities, what realistically do you see us getting for him ? if were looking for a first rounder i doubt we'd get it

I would have him but could we fit him in our salary cap??? Sir Maxwell said last year he didnt want him but if there is any truth in this deal you cannot knock back a gun forward like fev......he is a bit of trouble maker but I rekon we back our culture and leadership group to turn him round.....it worked for dids-swan-jonno and heater!!!!!!

You certainly can knock back a forward like fev especially when he acts the way fev does.

We have focused our structure and the way we go forward to score on working as a team, not focusing on individuals. theres a reason why we have averaged 11 individual goalscorers all season.

Enter Fevola:

- will need to change the forward structure to give him room to lead thus making us more predictable.
- Will need to drop a key position fwd, i.e Dawes, who has done nothing but perform for us to put this gorilla in
- We will have extra media focus on us and every move that Fev makes, as if there wasnt enough media coverage on collingwood as it is.
- Will compromise our salary cap to put a person who is unnecessary into the team!

We would be crazy to look at Fev after the year weve had and would completely go against everything weve worked towards.
