Toast Tex 700 goals around the corner

Would you believe it, a 33 year old Tex, nearly 2/3 of a season in, is currently in the lead for the Coleman!

43 goals, with an average of 3.3 goals per game in 2023. Currently sitting on 579 goals. 9 games still remaining, maybe more if we make the Finals.
Carn’ Tex!
(Have changed the thread title)
Easy. 2 goals a match then a bag full last match against WC. Would be nice if it was against PA.

Jezza Cameron has also got to miss a week due to concussion so will have one less game to make up the difference.

To me it looks like it’s between Tex and Charlie.
Hope Tex beats up on North, and in the last away game against West Coast.

Carlton have a tough run home having to play all of Collingwood, Melbourne and Port Adelaide but they still have easy kills against West Coast and probably Hawthorn

We get to play West Coast and North Melbourne but also have Melbourne, Port and Brisbane

Will be interesting to see where it ends up

Got a bit salty listening to Gary Lyon the other night try and put a dampener on Tex being in front just because of his 10 against WCE and we get to play them again and that not everyone gets 2 goes at them.

Imagine being corrected by J Brown of all people who pointed out that Charlie kicked 9 against them and Carlton play them twice as well.

Lyon says nothing of the fact that Tex also kicked 5 against Collingwood at MCG just wants to cheapen the whole experience.

Toby Greene can't play them twice? Well he played them once and kicked 4 which is not bad but he had his chance and didn't come close.

Just made it sound like kicking 10 was so standard yet noone else is doing it.

Rant over, I feel better and Lyon is still a flog. Carry on.

Never mind that we play the top 2 sides twice. He’s also missed a game. Had one goaless game, two where’s he’s managed one. Apart from that he’s been great.

Some people crap on about the west coast game as though someone kicks 10 against them every week.

33.5 in the last 8 games. He’s having a phenomenal season by any measure. Anyone who wants to play it down is a dopey and or jealous flog.

He could have easily kicked a dozen in that game, but was totally spent in that 4th quarter.

Get the feeling that the final H&A game will be vs Eagles on Sunday at 5pm.

Could be an incredible end to the season, if we need to win it to make finals and Tex needs a bag to get the Coleman.

You would think the leader (assuming its not Tex) would need to be at least 5 to 6 in front for Tex to not catch him in the final game.

This morning on SEN they were talking about Tex and AA if he wins the Coleman. The theme was he shouldn't get it (AA) because we p-lay WC twice and the usual Vic sulking.
Lol, a third of the teams play Weagles twice... & also we play the top 2 teams twice.

The Vic media should use and apply that same stupid logic for Brownlow winner too then.

Currently 39th on the all-time list. 600 would get him to 35th. At average 2.3 per game, he's right up there, too.

In modern footy 50 goals is a banner season for a KPF.

600 goals averages out as 12 seasons of 50; that puts some context on just how impressive 600 is

That some player, and that’s before we talk about the man, the captain, the icon who bleeds our colours
