How offensive and hypocritical you are.
I'm sure women don't care for your opinion on their own bodies.
You think you can wash away all the white supremacy and climate denial by saying ' I'm an anti-abortionist and people are killing babies '.
Pretty sick stuff from you.

You must be the bunch of cells
You're sick in the head.

You're clearly not an adult.

Just out of curiosity - how many weeks along. I have had my share of miscarriages and never once did I refer to the pregnancy inside of 12 weeks as a baby.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I think it was 10-11. She hadn't announced it yet. Just to family.

This is just mental acrobatics and word play. The fully developed human is also just "a bunch of cells".

The reality is both situations are the taking of a human life.
Actually we unplug people from life support whetheir brain activity is below a certain point.

Im all for a discussion about where the point of life is if right wingers are up for a discussion about an equal playing field once the child is born.

Fair (and appreciate the comment). I always went of the rule of thumb each time for the 3 we have that 12 weeks meets the benchmark (as that’s when you announce that it’s taken the right course).

Honestly though - number two had placenta abruptions at 18 weeks which put the mum at extreme risk. Wouldn’t have thought twice about the big A if it came to it. Missus was of a similar mind - it’s not a simple debate but outlawing it by simply decrying it as murder significantly diminishes the real discussion.

Hope your sister has been blessed with kiddies that steal sleep and are the ultimate sinking fund without a maturity date.

I've had friends that have said to close friends within the 12 weeks because they wanted the support of the worst did happen. They had seen too many try and go it alone because it wasn't announced.

My position is like Monkey Kings above. I really don't like abortions as a convenience. I really don't like the term choice tbh. If you knowingly took the risk and lost then there shouldn't be a choice imo. Own it. There are so many people who can't have children who would happily adopt the child.
I understand there are extreme situations, exceptions etc but usually in those situation there isn't really a choice either.

As a side note. I have a rare genetic eye condition where I don't have any functioning cones. It means I'm photophobic, short sighted and totally colourblind. Outside of that I am extremely heathly. I am the middle child and when my brother was conceived when I was about 4 the doctors said there was a 50% chance my brother could be born with the same condition and gave my Mum the option to abort. Thankfully she said no. In the end he was born without it but fmd if that hasn't affected my opinion of abortion.

Take your make abortion illegal b.s. to another thread, you're offending everyone and you're out of line.

I'm sure you have a safe space you can run along to.

Its a pretty clear line where we see someone as a living being and where we see something as a viable human

What is the line?

I get it - though we probably should judge those that use the element as convenience (rightly) as much as we judge those having kids for the wrong reasons. This being said, I don’t think anyone is pro abortion because it’s a fun thing to do rather allow it because of allowing choice rather than restricting it.

I don’t like them but happy to allow people on society the maturity to make a difficult choice without governmental or religious restriction.

Sucks being colourblind though - especially when playing golf (my uncle used to play tricks on his colour blind son by buying him red tees to us). Good discussion though (notes for old mate on the other thread that spewing bile is not an effective method of debate).

Mate my mother, my sister and my wife have all had miscarriages.

Still believe it is a women's decision re an abortion not a man's - we judge to easily in this world.

Sorry to here that as well.

I never said it should be a man's decision.

Cheers mate, they were all traumatic and in my mothers era not to be talked about, pleased we have moved on since then (along with other changes such as being able to divorce etc) - reckon we will agree to disagree on this one. It would be fairly confronting for someone ie a woman having an abortion to be called a murderer.

FWIW - believe it is obvious that people have the right to support Trump. Also believe he should be held accountable for his actions, and so should Republicans who support him.

Care about murderers being killed but fine with killing babies. Makes sense.

Yesterday you said "Just making a point about the moronic generalisations going on here."

You either incapable or really didnt think about the question I asked you yesterday.

That's fine just continue with the way you are, I'm sure you'll found peace and happiness in your life.

Who says it's the man's choice? What an incorrectly labelled assumption.

I have peace and happiness in my life. Just because you are all miserable doesn't mean we all have to be

Its a pretty clear line where we see someone as a living being and where we see something as a viable human

Is it? Where do you think that line is exactly? Zygote? Blastocyst? Embryo? Fetus? Newborn? Infant?

I've never seen any consensus on personhood. Certainly not from a scientific point of view.

I have no doubt that in a more enlightened future, should humans make it that far, abortion for convenience will be looked back on as a barbaric practice of a primitive society.

Only if the religious right are in power.

And people using it for the reason of convenience should be judged accordingly this I agree with. People who have children for terrible rationale or without the means of going so shouldn’t also be neutered by the state.

Just how many women have them for convenience though. Every woman I know who has had one did not do it on a whim.
