It's not that I can't afford to go, it's just that I'd like to complain about the scalping of finals tickets in the finals tickets thread.

Thanks for your time.
The game should be moved to Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in North Korea (biggest stadium in the world) so that nobody misses out.

Yeah got two. $120
Tried to get into the Crows cheer squad bay, thought I actually had, but got shafted somewhere near Geelong's so I can't complain. Same price.

Wanted to sit with the Crows fans to hear the loudest booing lol.
If Dangerfield kicks the winning goal after the siren good luck getting out of the place alive.

Yeah it stinks.

Why doesn't the AFL insist on the same rules applying to the Grand Final (can't sell tickets for profit) for the whole finals series? That on-sell service was meant to be for people who have a ticket and can't get to the game - in which case, they should be happy to sell their ticket at face value. It could even be only accessible to club members for a couple of days before the public get a chance.

They do. It's a condition of the ticket that the holder does not resell it at a profit.

If you want a change to the law, talk to your local MP.

Yet the same people (Ticketek) have a re-sale service that allows you to charge $232 to re-sell tickets in the nosebleeds.
It's Ticketmaster that have the resale website, not Ticketek.
AFL should cancel Ticketmaster's contract with Etihad stadium if they don't stop it. AFL are piss weak when it comes to this sort of stuff. They need to tell Ticketmaster 'if you allow AFL tickets to be sold above face value on your resale website then we will cancel/not renew your contract with Etihad stadium'. Then they need to pressure the other stadiums that use Ticketmaster to also cancel/not renew their contract.

Ah yes, so it is. I was so blinded by rage I didn't even know which website I hated.

Thanks Whirlpool.

Yes but it's not illegal. Taking advantage of people by selling stuff above the value you paid for it is not illegal, it is however immoral and against the terms and conditions that you agreed to.
I also believe the issue isnt really taken up strongly by the media because they all get their free unfettered access

The only issue is the ticket resale scalping you see. In terms of the actual ticket price I think it's reasonable, having been to many other sports around the world for comparison.

True and most of them have NFI how ticketing actually works for the average punter.
On the TV news they still show people queuing up hours before gates open and try and make out that it's desperate club members/supporters trying to get into the ground ala 1970s style and that you too can get in if you go and join the queue. In reality this is MCC members trying to get into their walk up area.
