Would be a pretty brave move quoting our official club response back to Afl incorrectly

There's a celebration, and a "celebration".

Like funerals are often referred to now as the celebration of someone's life, celebrating Curnow's 150th post-game when we got pantsed doesn't mean everyone was running around giving each other high fives and taking turns on the beer bong.

The media outlets jumped on the word celebration, knowing full well how it would read in a headline.

I've got no problem with Bolton being delayed a bit because the acknowledgment of Ed's career milestone went a bit long. However, I'd hope the lesson has been learned about choosing words more carefully, even (especially?) when sending "private" correspondence to AFL House.

Spot on blue balls talk about a storm in an expresso cup

Not trying to demean the milestone at all but surely a 2 min thankyou is enough for a 150th game

This is my 50th year of supporting Carlton.I stopped watching and reading all forms of media about 5 years ago, due to the ever increasing circus of Bozo's creating stories to justify their exsistance. It's been very liberating. But I stumbled across Heath Buck releasing both barrels on episode 22 of MY Blue Heaven on Youtube. Quite entertaining. There's a passionate "journo" for ya.

I could watch that handball when he was cornered and tackled against the power, using strength and footy nous to handball 20 metres up the field into the path of Tommy Bell every waking minute for the rest of my life.

Absolute footy pr0n.

Funny you mention that, because some of that stuff doesn't seem to be in Cripps's repertoire any more.

Was wondering why that may have been the case last year also.
Remember that handball to Murphy against Collingwood two/three year ago? Brilliant.

That's not to say that Cripps isn't doing terrific things but some of those 'WTF was that?' moments have seemingly disappeared.

I posted the below during the preseason, I certainly don't think he's lost that ability but probably a combination of trusting his kicking more now, which has greatly improved, but also I think feeling like he needs to hold onto it and be the one to get it forward.

He did nothing but handball when SPS led the way against the Dogs, and as that becomes the norm I'm sure we'll see some creative passes again.

Cripps was breaking through everything and was able to again showcase his elite handballs into space (much like how Judd would, however Cripps ability to advantage his teammate is next level).

No doubt he has maintained an elite level in close, but I feel like the last couple of years he hasn't had the support to showcase his full ability as he did in his first years.

Yeah. I'm not highlighting this just because we agree on it, but I miss those jaw-dropping acts.
Cripps is the Brownlow favourite and a brilliant player, but some of the stuff he was doing early on in his career, seem to have been shelved for safer options.
Can't wait until all the shackles come off. We could once again become the most exciting team to watch. It's been a long time coming.

On Mondays I don't work as I spend the day with baby MEBHBF. I thought it would be nice to take my mum out to lunch. After lunch I mentioned that I wanted to buy this years polo shirt from Rebel. All 3 of us head to Rebel and thankfully they had my size.

My Mum jokingly said I should ask for a discount when I pay for the shirt after Sundays performance. I lol'd. Anyway I walked up to the counter to pay, and as per usual my mum couldn't help herself and asked the young girl working there that there that I should get a discount. She agreed, and she gave me the seniors discount.

poty - the end

Actually played for Carlton as it happens.

‘74/‘75 after he got dropped from the England ashes squad for bowling leggies in a possibles/probables trial game.

As a Pom, would have made a terrific Aussie.

Autobiography is a great read, even added a few pages of his own poetry.
