did we see the return of the dreaded Collingwobbles this year? All year Collingwood fans were convinced they were on the verge of an almight era - back to back was a formality, it was only a matter of how many.

And yet... and yet. Collingwood flirted with form, whereas Geelong declared their intent. Collingwood, with their record breaking percentage, turn out to be no more than second loser in season 2011. As with the Hawks, nothing is guaranteed. The Pies may not win another flag in this era, and underachieve as teams like mine have before.

Is it just bad luck? Or are the Collingwobbles alive and well?

Think we were just beaten by a better team on the day.

Would be incorrect to imply IMHO ( via the term colliwobbles ) that we choked.

I'm sure others will disagree and that's fine :)

The dynasty was very short indeed. To go 20-2 for the season and fall apart when it counts most will sting for years.:D

Bit early to call the end of a dynasty isnt it? Were people calling Geelong finished after 08, when they went 21-1 and lost?

It's alllllllll over. Malthouse leaves. Buckley proves his leadership goes nowhere (just like his captaincy) and all they have to show for it is one flag.
Similar to the Essendon powerhouse of 1999-2001.

Good to see the Blues fans getting some enjoyment from the season here.

Geelong outplayed us twice before today, don't think we choked, just beaten by a better team.

Dissapointing not to win after a 20-2 season but the fact all 3 losses were to Geelong suggests we didn't choke, but never had their measure.

Had we gone in strong favourites I might agree, but the writing was on the wall through the week.

Just like old times, Carlton, Richmond & Essendon are sorting out their shit and getting back to the top.

Geelong & Hawthorn are almighty powerhouses.

The interstate teams are working around the clock to get to the top.

Dogs, Saints, Roos, Dees aren't rabbles anymore.

TWO additional teams coming/come into the comp, its safe to say that an opportunity like that for Collingwood will never come again, you were right lance, they flirted with form whilst Geelong continued to improve.

This opportunity will never come that easy for Collingwood again.
