The Crows have secured Ben Nelson & Kris Massie in exchange for Andrew Eccles & (About Time) David Gallagher.
A Three way deal whic sees Vardy go to the dees and the 2nd rd pick of theirs to the swans and Fitzgerald to the Crows.
Daniel (Woo Hoo, I have big raps on him) Shell to the crows for a 2nd rd i think it was draft pick and thats all I think.
This was all on the AFC website so we havent done too badly out of the trading period as we have aquired two good forwards in my mind and both are young.
NOW why arent we hurrying to secure the services of Darren Jarman as the Port ****s are after him, they have been chasing him for years, wake up AFC and sign him up today.
CARN THE CROWS IN 2002!!!;) :) :D

In the end, not that bad an effort I would have thought.

Massie, Nelson, Fitzy and Schell in, Vards, Gallagher, Eccles, 2nd rounder out.

Getting Holland would have been great, but missing out on him isn't so bad considering what we would have paid.

We've got a couple of young forwards in Fitzy and Schell, which is what we needed. Admittedly Fitzgerald is injury prone and Schell isn't highly impressive but at least it gives us a few more options there. Now we should have a forward line next year containing a combination talls the likes of McGregor, Perrie, Fitzgerald, Schell and Angwin. I can hear the dreaded 'p' word being uttered around West Lakes already.......

Massie should be able to help out in defence so I'm pleased with this trade, we have a few Eccles-type players already anyway. Nelson isn't much but could play a role if needed, though hopefully he won't be called upon by the selectors.

Importantly as well, Johnson stays for one more year at least and we kept our first draft selection so we should get a reasonably good youngster there to further replenish our player stocks.

All in all, not bad, especially after all the time we spent on the Holland deal.

Im Happy

I take back all them cussin words I said about our tradesters:D
Couldnt believe we snagged Schell in particular. He'll be a real good player this kid.

As for Fitzy, I reckon he'd be pretty wrapped at comin home and keen to do well. Just hope he doesnt get stge fright like Richardson.

Vardy will be missed... Cant picture him in a Dees jumper:eek:

Ben Nelson for D Gallagher is a complete nothing trade....one dud for another

Kris Massie is a pretty goodbackline player and youve got the better deal out of him for Eccles.

Fitzgerald is a strange one....he has a lot of potential...but every afl player has potential...he is very injury prone and seems to be very brittle, however, if he can get fit, and stay fit he will be a good half forward

Schell - well...i have to agree with ant on this one - he wont cut the mustard at all unless something drastically improves in his game plan. Reminds me of Harwood...will do ok in the SANFL, but wont get a kick in the AFL.

Getting rid of Vardy is another tricky one...if he can pull his head in he is a great footballer....its just a pity he is an absolute stoner and doesnt have his head screwed on properly.

With the crows again going out to get a 'couple of likely tall forwards:D', what does this mean will happen to the likes of Beinke, Crowell, McStinker, Welsh, and Hewitt etc..
How many players still need to be delisted and who do you think they will be?
